The Snake's Land (updated)

Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Easy
You are at war with the Snake. He has taken many of your counties and your troops are exhausted. When you set up camp you notice a castle in the distance with the Snake's yellow flag on it. You move closer and notice there aren't many troops there. You go inside and eliminate any troops of the Snake you see. Just as your about to kill the last one, he blows the horn which signals the Snake's troops to come back. As you prepare for battle, you see a small group of soldiers, marching your way...

Just another newbie map. I like reviews to be honest so I know whether it's good or just horrible and cheesy.

Why does this thing upload my maps and half the time it doesn't?

CD_Burner put up the map before this one for me so sorry bout that.

P.S. Can I delete something I submited?
Lord Ako Yes, I think so, try the 'update' function.

No not updating, accually uploading to the download forum.

Maybe it was cause I tried it on a diffrent browser.
kodakeasyshare lol its the same map, yet you still got more than doubled the "snakes anger" map.

Playability: 5
This was a fun map to play.
*updated* Still an awesome map to play.

Balance: 4
I had too many soldiers to work with. The invasions posed no problems at all. If you cut back on the number of soldiers or maybe gave the invaders more men or more powerful troops, it would improve.
*updated* You narrowed down the starting troops well.

Creativity: 4
This map was ok, it just didn't stand out.
*updated* Good. Now you've caught my eye. I'm going to be watching for more of your maps in the future.

Map Design: 4
This needs work. The terrain looked fake. It didn't have a realistic feel to it. There were to many wide open spaces where there was nothing.
*updated* Much better. Still a few things amiss, but the added and improved waterfall was good, and there wasn't a wide open plain of grass. I would say design the hills a bit more, some were plain and empty. Also, the swamp. Instead of hiding it in the corner, spread it out a bit. If you've looked at some of the swamps in (no I'm not being self-centered, just trying to help...) my maps, you'll see they're not decoration, but part of the map. It looks more natural, and natural is good.

Story/Instructions: 4
Despite the opinion of our esteemed coleague Mr. CD_Burner, I thought this story to be sufficent for a 4 rating. It's not about if you like the story, but how detailed it is.

Additional Comments:
A very good start. It was deffinetly better than my first maps. Keep working at it. Most good maps take days or months to perfect. A prime example of this is Lord Ako's Viking maps. After the first one was released, it took more than a month for the second one to come out. And WarLord_Designs maps, though few and far between, are always worth the wait. Anything worth doing, is worth taking the time necessary to perfect it. Keep making maps!

*updated* Much, much better. I really enjoyed this map. Keep up the good work! L_K

Ok thankyou for those tips. I will spend more time on Terrain and perfecting how hard the invasions are. I'm going to post anotherone soon but getting is play tested first.
