You, an aspiring young man with a pious heart, have been sent by the Priory of Constantinople to mediate between a deadly civil war raging in one of its principalities. Income from the possession has practically frozen, and worse, rumors of genocide abound. Your action in the event was purely pragmatic. But things change, and not even you could be spared from the vicissitude of destiny.
Both warring factions have decided that their war should not be subject to a third party, so they both conjure up separate strategies for removing this thorn in their side.
As soon as you make landfall, you make a startling discovery. The lord of the mistreated heretics,Duke Richard the "Lionheart", has advanced his men and placed his keep at the mouth of a rugged delta, with intentions to drive you into the sea.
On another front, a man by the name of Duke Beauregard, the man fighting the war for the opulent lords, has advanced his men to a keep southerly of your own. Though he masks his true desires well, it may very well be that instead of pushing you off the jagged coast you defend, he will make you suffer.
The prospect of surviving looks bleak, as you have little combat experience and don't know how to defend on two fronts. Your only hope is to depend solely on the fact that the two sides may share a common goal in destroying you, they also share a common goal in destroying each other.
However, the future still appears out of your favor. This feeling is all but reinforced when one of the Lionheart's allies, Duke Volpe the "Wolf", comes to his aid.
It will be a terrible time, but you are fighting for your very survival, and survive you must, lest you get cast into the sea, and become gnashed to pieces by the sharp teeth of the devil.
This map can either be played like the story formats it (of course you can choose your AI opponents) or for a more difficult game, play three on one.
