Okay,so ...this is Chapter one of a series "Eagles Of Valour" that is in the making.
This is VERY har for mediocre players and for newbies its impossible, you have little farmland, there are blue enemies guarding the path to the rocks, the iron is on the very edge of the map and the wood is beside your castle so it won't be very challanging *IF* you can deal the cards right.
Hint #1: An enemy army will attack so you should probobly prepare some defenses, since the attack is HUGE and it will repeat frequently.
Now about the story line...You are Sir Conrad The 3-rd Of Germany and the leader of "valour eagles" a knight union ment to defend the places of the holy land and during a seige you have lost your memory, you wake up to find only a few troops alive and your castle destroyed. A knight offers you to replenish the castle to its full power, which will take a lot of skill...as you slowly build up,arabians hire europeans to attack you while you work, if you survive, there will be even more perils in the future. And if you defend and make enough weapons, you can march your new army towards the next town...so begins your quest.
Well there is hardly any playability at all, before you have a chance to place a woodcutters post invades are baring down on you. With in the first couple of years there are some 200 or more troops, ridiculous numbers, you start our with no gold and to expect a player to gather the amount of weapons is required, some 590 is a joke.
What can I say, invasions are almost instant and far too large, before you know it you are surrounded by archers, no time to get an economy running. More than this stone and iron are at the furthest points from you and are guarded by fortified hilltops.
Nothing too creative to be seen, just random invasion basically and not the least bit of effort is evident in the planning of the map.
Map Design: 2
The terrain is mostly blank with a few areas of grass, there needs to be a great deal more work done in your design. Try to make the terrain realistic; leaving a rushed look makes a less enjoyable game play.
Not too much length in this one and its really just a short description.
I simply cannot believe that this map has received the amount of high standard reviews it has. I think a serious look at the review guidelines needs to be taken by members so that they can better judge what to do, go and download some maps with fives and see the amount of effort and time taken to create them, I simply cant see how one would go about even winning on such a map.
I think that staffs have to tackle this inflation in reviews, people just aren’t paying attention to the guidelines and simply throw in fives with abandon.
I am in no way trying to attack the map maker I just feel that those who have made their reviews should take a good look at how they conduct themselves in the judgement of peoples maps.
