Its not neccisarly a terrible map, but you could blend some elements and different hieghts.
I do like the way the map plays though. |

This map is an indeed, A very fun map to play with. If you don't use gamespy, I think the best way to play it would be to put weaker AIs' on the sides (snake, the pig even) and the stronger in the middle (perhaps yourself, or the wolf, maybe richard).
Balance: 3
Everyone Side has an equal balance, except for the middle. I deducted two points because I belive the middle players should have some point of advantage the other plays don't , for example higher terrain, or more fertial land. Other that that this map plays perfectly well.
Creativity: 2
This map does show a little creativity. I like the Island based keeps, as it provides an excellent defence. The reason I gave creativity a low score is because there is nothing eyecatching in the map.
Map Design: 2
A dissapointment here. All the creator did was quickly slop on some oasis grass, huge piles of stone and iron. Don't get upset though, you could easily turn this into a high rate if you might maybe add some stones to the terrain, and mix the iron in stones with some hills and boulders, for the naturality effect.
Story/Instructions: 1
Not even a description of a map. Skirmishes are hard to make stories ,yes, but atleast add a discription, or a paragraph, maybe a few instructions. If you do so, Ill raise my rating.
Additional Comments:
Until my following suggestions are made, the review remains. It is a very good map for a first time maker. I made a few bad maps too, but then a increasingly got better. Keep making maps, spend a few days on them (Don't go over riduculas and spend months on them, Yeah you know who Im talking to).

Oh yeah, and by the way, there is a button called "Update" in the inital post. If you do make the following suggestions, please repost with that. And if you want, I can show you how much the difference makes with a little terrain mixing if you wish me to update it. There are also other people you can ask for people If you need help. Lollard is a very good crusader designer, im sure he'd help you. Brave Sir Robyn made a map I espically liked. ( I forget whats its called though :D sorry) EDIT: its called a lone stand.[Edited on 04/08/06 @ 10:29 AM]

You don't really have to put a story, but just a description or instructions of the map, atleast for skrimishes. For Example.
The desert strait is a florishing land, full and fertile land, rescoures, and islands. This map is designed to be played with 3v3v2 (or whatever you designed it for) with the middle lords,a slight advantage. Each player has a large amount of rescoures allow lots of battle, but in order to get through to they lords on the left or right, they must conquer the lord in the middle.[Edited on 04/08/06 @ 10:27 AM]

I can play it. But it's not good for multiplayer. I prefer to play with AI. It's nice to play in the middle islands, surrounded by wolves. Their mangonel made me crazy when i tried it. But the recources, too many. For iron it's too many... that what makes this map easy

well.... first try to reduce the irons and boulders quantity. And use the smaller option and variate the iron. And the location. Example, you can put iron in the mount with some rock. Then, the grass. Variate it. Join the oasis grass and the thick grass. Then variate it. And the grass, don't be too vertical. Then add some trees and shrubs. You can download surajsubba's map then see the design. DONT EDIT FOR COPYING just watch then create like that.... now river. Everyone said that this is a river. But accoding to the story (desert strait v1.1) it's a sea. You can change the sea to river. Then add some rocks, beach in small options then add to the river. Then some fords. For more detail you can download surajsubba's map then you see the river. Or in the mapmacking 101.....
Story: 3
Well the story pretty good you know? Some lords try to find out about the mysterious rich land. Like "Terra Australis Incognita". But need some change. Like, improvement. Somebody must improve about the heaven. Is it true? The real, they'll find out it's real or not..... but you can variate. Like they're do it without thinking. And about the guardian.... you can change it to local people that don't want they sacred land destroyed... be creative!!
