Mechstra I'm downloading this, even if you did spell the name of the sacred castle wrong. I'll give you a review, then it's death to the heathen! Sacrilege!
Amended title, can't amend description - Wraith'll have to do it :)

This was a very good map entry into the siege listings. I enjoyed playing the map but do have a few things to point out.

In playability, as long as you do play as defender, you will have a good challenge. As attacker, it is rather one sided and I was able to take the castle without knocking out a single gate or wall.

One of the biggest flaws in some siege maps is allowing the attacker to drool over the open view of the keep. With the large amount of archers and xbows, I was able to sit back and knock off the Lord without entering the castle.

The above notes would be for both playability and balance.

The map design and creative use of the landscape both earned bonus points and the castle was very nicely designed. A great looking reproduction.

Instructions and story were also pleasing and were also given a bonus.

A great map as defender, but I would love to see the author do a bit of tweaking for attackers.

*bows head in shame...*
My most sincere apologies... I blame my uploading it at 5 am.
Sir Deacon I played this map Wraith, need to bow your head in shame. It only needs a little tweaking, as Lord Dresden explained. The map and Castle look great. You should be praised for doing such a service to this structure. No heads bowing in shame................
Mechstra Right, seeing as this has already been reviewed, and I agree with most of what has been said, I will just say that the map is not accurate.

Where's the Irish Sea? The poncy little bit at the side? Conwy is (was) almost surrounded by water, and is connected to the town walls. A town would have been nice. The the castle is slightly more compact than that. But that's all. I feel it unfair to mark a map down just because of my personal taste.
LordDresden Wraith, as I had pointed out in the review of this map. I think you did a great job. With a small amount of tweaking, I think this map will be a great success. You have no need to feel shame. I found it enjoyable.

The rating itself can be improved with a little bit of effort and I would be more than happy to play this one again if modified and evaluate my rating. Keep up the great work.
Adriano Nice job, although it shares the general Stronghold realism problem of castle walls being ridiculously easy to destroy.

I've been to Conwy. One feature of the real thing that would have changed the game is that the castle sits atop a very steep stone outcropping (that accounts for the castle's elongated shape; it follows the shape of the outcropping rather than using a nice symmetrical concentric form). Stand down in the street, look up at that steep-sided mass of stone, then at the strong castle on top of the stone, and you'll realize the place would have been almost impossible to take.
