Battle of Gardiron City v 1.3

Author File Description
File Details
Map Size: 400x400 (Large)
Difficulty: Hard
So..this is my 3rd sige-invasion map. Can't say that it's already done, but it's ready to be tested.

Story: The kingdom of Ironcort has war with its neighbor Manrod. Both kings want to see each other dead so battle after battle was fought without any useful results for both sides. Villages were burned down cities destroyd and ten thousands of heads cut only for blood and the mighty crone....

It all began when both kings Affrod Griffon of Manrod and Girand Armond of Ironcort who were good friends returned from a victorious war.
The son of Griffon who visitted Armond to learn about warfare died by as he tried to steal Armond's mighty sword.
*Early in the morning Vingurd went with dirty clothes ad mask into the kings throne room to see the mighty sword wich was carried in hundred of battles. He red: "I bring victory and glory to true kings but dead to false". Few minutes later he decided to steal it. When the guards saw him, he got in panic and threw the sword out of a tower, but they already run towards him. He tried to escape and jumped ona a wall but at the wall he lost balance and fell down directly on the sword wich stack between tower and wall. He hit the sharp side and was sl in two pieces. It was horrible. King Griffon couldn't believe it and thought that Armond killed him. He got more angry when he heared that Armond was promoted to Emperor of all kingdoms because of HIS victoriy in battle. Griffon fought the same balltes with same strenght. A few days later, he prepared a huge army to march against the new emperor and his lords.

Battle 17: Griffon arrived with a 27.500 infantry and 850 cavalry strong army.
Armond stood in position with 30.102 infantry and 920 cavalry. As his cavalry charged into the line of the marching enemy infantry. They fall back without fighting. The cavalry followed. It was to late to order them back. The hole army of griffon with another 10.000 hired solners attacked the cavalry and slaughterd them. Then they charged towarrds Armond. After 45 minuts he and his army fall back and fled to to the Emperors seet in gardiron city. Griffon ordered to take the city of all costs. After a heavy trebochet attack, the army is attacking the centre of the city.

The Rabbit Did not want to rate it since ithas a few "flaws" in the current version:

1) Missing a win condition! I killed em' ell but nothing happend :(

2) It's confusing that you first see a few enemies and adjust tactics to them then suddenly more appear... Either point that out more clearly or place all enemies at the start or all in the invasion

3) What are the ladderman for? Also the enemies Assasins walk around like morrons

4) What are the tons of goods for given at the beginning???

Other then that very nice map! Nice idea and cute battle. However a bit "to easy" to win (grin)
lollard97367 Playability: 1.5
No win conditions just the 500 troop invasion. I went in and added a lose condition, deleted some of the starting goods, and set a win condition at no enemy or invasions left. Then I lowered the gold (almost 50k starting) and made some available peasants by disbanding some spearmen. Then I started the game and it ran ok, its really quite easy to hold the high ground with defenders the way its set up.

Balance: 2
Random high amounts of starting goods, weapons, good things, houses, and really the troop placement is almost random. There are some barracks areas, but not really realistic in layout and troops. Much work and playtesting needed before submitting next map.

Creativity: 3.5
Its a straight up invasion through a city with no people to work the buildings. Really nothing special. But I gave extra for the good looking and creative buildings.

Map Design: 2
Simple work with some good buildings as previously mentioned. Try to get the invasions a little later so you can at least get your economy going. The stronghold and fireplace start completely enclosed by wall with no gate.

Story/Instructions: 3
The map name and the title on the description page are different, otherwise the write up is enough for a low 3.

Additional Comments:
Give this a miss because its not finished and the author needs to put forth more effort in the future if you want to get anything above a 2 or 3. Thumbs Down.

note that this is a test version. v 1.0 is never the best of all but i already changed a lot of things for the next update.

It is so, that i only added it now to show the map design. So thats why i called it ... v 1.0 I' m working at the playability.

Can rate but you needn't, but it don't gives my points because im not finished. so it realy isn't fair to say that this is a miss

Make more useful comments so that I can finish the map earlier

lollard97367 The maps posted on here are supposed to be already playtested and completed to the best of your ability. Sometimes your first maps are not done because as a noob you dont really know how to make a map yet. Post maps that need to be tested in the forums. After getting the problems worked out, put it on here after your final touches. Its saves time with all the new maps that are coming out.

Dougleass The minimap looks absolutely amazing. How could this have gotten such a bad score? I'm going to check it out.

Yoda48 I might rate this soon if i sit down and play this. i dowloaded this and to chech out the map for why it had a low score. when the game started i was amazed on how much eye candy their was. the only thing is that their really was no hills but if i will rate i would give this a 5 on map design. My question to lord Ruston, why did u give such a low score?
File Author
