Playability: 3
Playability...there are two types of maps I play; the extremely nice ones with map design that makes me cry (Carreg Cennen by WL_D) and (seriously) spend about 5-10 minutes just looking at it. The other kind are ones like this, beginner maps with a lot of creativity still in them, and this was one of those. I only took it down a couple notches because I just left it running for an hour after defeating the village.
Balance: 3
I could make this a 2 but I gave you a break. The reasons are...
-There are enough men in the castle that you start with to simply destroy the village off the start.
-You can buy anything with the market and you start with about 50000 gold.
-The castle is huge and well garrisoned, the enemy don't stand a chance.
-I can't think of anything else right now but you get the point.
Creativity: 4
I don't have much to say about this. The castle design is made of very strange eye candies and...well...it's unique.
Map Design: 3
I would give you a 4 for the castle and a 2 for landscape so...3. The castle is strange and yet well thought out, though the ship could have used some work. As for the landscape you might want to look for some good mountain terrain to study from (Again, Carreg Cennen) and the forest (Queen and Country 1) again could be studied. It was actually not that bad exept for the mountains, as I don't like pure rocks with 4x4 stones randomly placed.
Story/Instructions: 3
Interesting but could use some length. Not much to say on it though you could post it on the description page.
Additional Comments: An ok map and good for a first. HAPPY GAMING!!!
Oh and I'm probably forgetting some other stuff but I gotta go...
