Build and manage ancient Rome. Are you a cruel emperor that demands gold, or do you give your people wealth and rest in the gardens? The choice is up to you. Have fun!
Here's the Rome map in a freebuild version. Asked by many... I even got an email...
I've had an old version of Rome. It's actually a version I saved before deleting Jasper Tudor's fields, in case it would look bad, or something else happened. I removed them because they were not functioning, and the map needed more food. Sorry Jasper, I didn't like it, but it had to be done. But now they actually can see them.
Not surprisingly you will notice buildings and such are different in some places which i've updated since I removed the fields.
Maybe the biggest change is that there are actually audiences in the arenas and theatres. WD made me remove them. They only created problems anyways. Also, you will meet more challenge in the Colloseum this time.
As always I hope you enjoy this. If you want more information check out the invasion version of Rome. |

Actually, it doesn't have to be an invasion map to place enemy soldiers. Just change the map type to a multiplayer, place as many soldiers of any color that you want, then change it back to a freebuild. In one of my maps, (my Rome map to be precise) I had six armies fighting each other. |

Nice wheatfields but... maybe you should have used the save-to-map trick to make them full of wheat before you used the 1000 stone trick? Still it looks great. |

Gandor, you would have to ask Jasper Tudor about that. He is responsible for the whole outside of the wall.
It's now a freebuild. You were right... it was very easy to make it a freebuild actually.[Edited on 05/28/06 @ 04:13 PM]

This map is still kicking with this freebuild version now available. Is Rome the "Miscellaneous File" expected? Rome "The Walkthrough"? Why limit it, put it in all the categories! |

lol I like your enthusiasm.
But... Rome in 'miscellaneous files'? Well if you want to make a walkthrough, then I wouldn't mind. I could mention it in the Rome map page.[Edited on 06/09/06 @ 07:03 PM]

awesome map, but how do you change a map from one kind to another? ex. multiplayer to free build. Also, how did you get such a large stock pile, is it an unknown path or something, it is so cool how you did it. How long did it take you?

Hello, thelivedevil.
Good to hear you are interested in knowing more about the map.
As you have seen when you submited your comments, this place is for comments and reviews, it's not a thread.
Should you have any questions , please be so kind to open a thread about it into the forums:
http://stronghold.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forum/
Not only is it the proper place, but you will get quicker and better answers than here, and even pics.
Thank you.

WOW!! All I can say is WOW!! How the heck did you make all this? And Im really interested in the wheat fields. How did you make those? I saw a post that said using the 1000 stones trick. I know how to do that, but how does that incorporate with the wheat farms? |

Duc already told you where to post questions. Other than that, I can say that I don't know; Jasper Tudor made the fields.
To make this map took alot of time, that was generally what I needed to make this map hehe. I pretty much tell the story in the invasion Rome.[Edited on 07/17/06 @ 10:01 AM]
