Here's a fellow that has decided everything he ever needs are within his castle walls in a small peninsula. He has shunned the outside world in favor of just being left alone. But you're not going to leave him alone, are you? ;)
Took me two tries to figure out what to do. Hint: This is no time for finesse.
PLAYABILITY: This Castle probably challenges you as much as any Siege That! Castle can, given the deisgn restrictions imposed by the genre.
BALANCE: It forced me to restart, one of the few Siege That! Castles ever to do so.
CREATIVITY: Both the storyline and Castle were above average! Had the story had a little more depth, creativity would have rated a "5", as well.
MAP DESIGN: (Terrain features for Siege That! maps can not be edited.) Strong Castle design. The one end of the moat seemed rather rather disjointed, however.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: Short, but well written story. More depth is needed to achieve a "5".
This is my favorite Siege That! Castle so far. It required careful planning to defeat. That puts it head and shoulders above most Siege That! maps I have played.

Very Very nice!! quite a hard scenario if no siege equipment is used. but if used the front wall can be demolished easily, and the troops killed with rotten cows.
It took me a few attampts to complete without engineers but once i got the right tactics i completed it with 14% losses.
Overall a very playable map.

I'm not going to rate this, but it seems to suffer from the same problem that all siegmaps do: just get all xbow men, stay out of "wakeup" range, and clear off the walls. This one is even worse in that you need not breach the walls to kill the lord with your xbow men. So, I was able to kill everyone inside *and* the lord without losing a single xbowman.
Here's hoping the 1.2 patch fixes that little bug... might make things more interesting to play.

A fairly difficult castle, considering the budget given. The moats were well-placed though there seemed no use for the extra strip of moat at the left hand-side of the screen. The walls were slanted, rendering seige towers useless, so the player was forced to clear the walls. There is barely any storyline, but the concept of a recluse is quite appealing. Overall a definitely above average seige that map.

a tough map until you figure out the cheap way to beat it (as someone mentioned, just take a load of xbowmen round to the left out of range, then just kill the few on the wall and then the lord) which isnt fixed by the 1.2 patch.
i suppose if you choose to disallow yourself to use that tactic, its a good challenge with a rain of misery upon your forces
