|Lord Blood Hawk
At the coronation ceremony of the new king, an attempt to take the king's life was prevented from being carried out before the assailant's blade could harm a hair on his majesty's head. The king's closest advisors (The Pig, Snake, and Wolf) are accused of attempted murder and conspiring against his majesty. In response, the three lords gather their own armies and capture several provinces and counties of the kingdom, leaving the nation coming apart at the seams. The king attempted a personal face to face negotiation with the aggressive lords, but was only ambushed by enemy forces. The king suffered a dire blow to the skull, and it seemed that the strike rattled his brain so much that since the incident, the king was (and still is) unable to string together a coherent sentence. Gibberish and garbled speech was all that he knew. His people, understandably, no longer felt safe under his rule and welcomed the three lords’ arrival into their castles. You are the only one that is still faithful to the king’s rule. Originally, you had sent over a large force of men to combat the tyrants, but they were all brutally massacred.
So, just who are you? You are none other than Duc de Puce. Good old Ratty de Puce, a terrible coward when it comes right down to it. Your men have been cut down and butchered to the many enemies, and much territory has been stolen from you and your people. It seems incredibly unfair, but you have been pushed back to Wheywurt, an estate which is sited by a mighty river and its many tributaries. Besides you, there are only two more counties left that are not controlled by these tyrants. Of course, the king controls one of the counties, and the other belongs to a lord who seems to have taken a neutral stance on the whole matter. However, the Pig is laying siege to this county, and it can’t withstand the Pig’s boys for long! It looks like old Ratty is going to have to save the kingdom, restore order, smite his enemies, get the girl, and generally tidy up and improve the state of affairs of the place...
The estate of Wheywurt (which you control) doesn’t have the proper stone blocks to build a reliable castle. You must make do with just a series of moldy old wooden fences. Since this is the very last estate that you control, you'll have to get a very successful economy going to support your military and the king. Also, it will be up to you to restock the king's armory with swords and armor to outfit a new generation of soldiers.

I played this map on "Very hard" setting.
I thought it was a bit too easy. A few additional bad events such as bandits could make it more challenging: I never ran out of food and I constantly had the tax on heavy or higher. I was parcimonious in the way I collected and used the wood in the first game years and did not collect any to the east side. There was a little forest when I won.
Once I had an army of 240 archers plus the two pikemen that come at the begining, I stopped producing weapons. This was a little bit after the trees disease. I then only had to focus on reaching the goals, and it was not too difficult. The constant invasions did not make it very far. I had not developed my economy on the little island, everything was besides the castle and to the south of it. I think you should have added two or three knights and catapults into the later invasions.
Very nice. My first impression when I looked at the pics in the thread were that it looked like one of the original ingame missions.

It's a bit desolated to the north and east of the map but it looks good. Good thing you did not place too many trees on the map, it makes it more interesting. One or two more crossing passages would have allowed the enemy to attack with a few more options and not to always face a wall of archers...
Edit: Never mind the Duc de Puce.
