Congratulation my Fellow,

It looks good for you...it seems you´ll survive the dessert...maybe. But the missions test you hard and now where you left the "blasted vally" most of your companions left you in thought of going home. You and a handful stalwarts continues your odyssey throug the endless desserted land until you comes to a small arabian village. But be careful, there only mercenaries living there! Try to get them on your side...maybe you need a little bit money.

Produce some goods for you long march to conversion -and- try staying alive...infidels are all around

We´ll see us again my Friend

God Avo I don't know why but your maps never seem to get any comments :/ I'm still currently trying to make it past the 3rd mission :p
SSJ Gohan I Like it :) very tempting to play for a 6th time :) takes quite a lot of skill to stay alive eh? I think its a great Map ill give it a 5.
Stratego Well, it's a tough start to keep your economy up, but if you're patient you'll make it through the approx. 60(game) years to fight back the enemy assaults and to exploit the iron resources ...

...a good challenge and a bit lengthy, however tending to get bored towards the final 20 years.

Stratego
Lord4life well this is a great map but i would like to see an skermish version of it.

peter2008 A really epic eco-invasion. It requires patience and offers joyful rewards after getting to certain steps.
What a relieve when "theft from the granary" or "wheat desease" do not bother any longer.

You start with a small and prebuilt economy and a small army of European soldiers within the ruins of a modest castle. Soon it is attacked by a thin but constant line of units from the Arabian neighbour's castle.

When the first wood comes in you can slowly build up the basic supply. A typical feature of many of DoC's maps is that you have to fight against a forest which blocks the oasis for farms. That spot may also become the player's first outpost (to good for invading slaves and melees).

The map then lives up to its name for you can make use of many of the mercenary unit types. After the few European melees had fallen, I hired assassins and slingers to protect the oasis. Charging the enemy castle may be best done with horse archers (they can overrun the fire ballistas using their short swords). Though there are bad surprises for attackers in the hostile area which I hired slaves to clear for.

Late in the game you take control of a large iron deposit. This section I secured with two square towers. The iron is quite far from the stockpile, however, so that only a limited number of weapons workshops can be supplied.
Now, after lots of tension and succeess, the game tends to become a bit boring. A help may be placing -5 bad things and setting game speed to 90. You can enjoy ruling over the entire land now and watch your workers.

With all the requests met, a win timer appears, which is perhaps that victory does not end the great mission too abruptly.
It took me 44 game years.

riderwinz After reading the comments, I edited the map before playing, lowering weapons required to 25 & gold to 5000, so avoiding the boring, last 20 years. Otherwise OK to play, except the traps become irritating.
