I never update my maps...however I felt it might be a good thing for this map so I am breaking my own rule. ENJOY
Welcome to Egypt, 642 AD
Nile River, south of Cairo
Story
A new bridge has been built by the current Byzantine government outside Cairo, Egypt. The Byzantine Empire took control of Egypt after the fall of the Roman Empire, and are slowly making modifications to help trade. You are a privateer/adventurer seeking Egyptian treasure. Now that the new bridge is open, you have access to the other side of the river.
The victory goal is described on the objectives page of the map.
Knock out the Byzantine patrols who are defending the bridge, and gain access to the other side. Watch out for advancing muslim regular army who are occupying Egypt at this time.

I have updated my review.
Playability: 4.5
It was pretty fun. but almost gave up tryen to cross the bridge with all of them guys.
Balance: 5
I think was perfect. It was a bitch getting across the river but i figured out a way to do it but it took forever!
Creativity: 4.5
Brining the iron back was an awsome idea. I dont think ive ever sen this on SHH.
Map Design: 4
It was ok. alot of hills and some desert. It would have been kool if you would have put some farm land on the river and put a little more detail in the terrain.
*update* this is the only thing that you really improved on the map rating.
Story/Instructions: 5
You had something and thats all that counts
Additional Comments:

Thanks for the great review and I will be adding. I swam in the Nile River in Egypt and spent two weeks exploring tombs in Luxor. I didnt get to take any artifacts back with me. Very serious crime in Egypt!

You stary out with lots of ale for Inns, but the only way to feed your peasants is with bread and I could not get enough to support a high population. And because the only way too get gold was throough selling wood or ale and taxes, I grew slowly. However, these minor problembs were added to increase diffulity and the map plays extremely well.
Balance: 4
It was extremly diffult to cross the bridge to get the Artifact in question. I was about to attack when I heard the scribe warning me of an upcoming invasion. The invasions increase the diffulity lever signifantly, especilay when mid way asross the brige, which often wipes out your half dead army and heads for your king.
Creativity: 4
I have never seen a map where the objective is to simply cross a bridge and collect some iron. Despite It's labling as a econimic map, it seems mor like and invasion map, but you are attacking, so...
Map Design: 4
I realise that the map is based in Egypt, but there is almost no variation of the treain. Also the bridge, although nice, could br inprved. Read the write up on bridges. Despite these flaws, your map is well degisined. The enemy troops get a huge bonus from the tombs placed inside the map. The hills look like dunes you would fing in a desert and the river looks nice.
Story/Instructions: 5
Not a beautifull story, but it gets the job done. And the, which I am assuming there is, historical acurcy makes it even more powerfull.
Additional Comments:
Sorry, but none.

You can put .5's on this one because its a Crusader map. Regular Stronghold maps just have whole numbers for the reviews. Why? Who knows........ |
