Hello to everyone viewing this :)
This was my first ever map, but I've been renovating it for a few days. It's gone well and from what I can see there are no glitches or bugs that I'm aware of. If you find any please tell me :D
I want to make a serious try of map-making so if you have any advice for me please say so ;)
Now on to the map :p
*******
"It all happened around a year ago when I was being chased out of my own fort by the wolf with my army by my side.
I was retreating as quick as I could to an ally, but the wolf had already wrecked it's havoc amongst it's castle walls and it's lord." Sir Natriarche picked up a glass of wine.
"I ran over to the keep, only to find that Sir John Lock was still barely alive, he told me that he had decimated the forces of the wolf and that the wolf had called upon the pigs help to ruin the remaining castles.
He told me to rebuild his castle and he died just shortly after, and here I am, the castle had been re-built and is under frequent raids and I have no time to erect an economy.
Most of my army is wiped and I need your help, after all it is rumoured that you did defeat the pig a while back, isn't that true Sir Ravenclaw?" Sir Natriarche said, handing you his sword.
Thank you for downloading and if anyone can, rating :x |

Ok, I havent downloaded it yet but I will tell you what I think, from the mini map. I can tell with your use of height you wanted the enemy to come in certain places. However, that still doesnt mean you cant vary the height. Plain ol single height can be very dull. Place medium, high and maximun height in a heap and start using the equaliser, leaving some areas higher than others but still unreachable. The hills look good, but everyone dislikes maps with just a massive field of minimun height grass. Turn it into sparsely forested woodland or make the ground be scattered with marsh or dirt, or even outlying farmland communities but I beg to you not to just leave it blank, unless there is really good reason. Now to the river. Looking at it, it goes in a straight line to the sea. As I was told about rivers on my first map, let me tell you: Think realisticly. Rivers meander and turn, add a bit of that.
The castle seems to have a simple design, I have no problems with that, but it needs to look good and yet be effective.
If you can do all that you'll be going good.
Take just that little bit of time to detail your maps. Good luck with future map making! |

Ok I'll take your advice to mind ^.^
Uhm, if you do download and play the map do you mind kindoff like commenting on the gameplay? :p
I sent this to a friend and he said that it wouldn't work because there are no signposts for the invasions to appear from, but the invasions stil appear ;) Can you guess how? :p
I'm currently making a map, kind-off like a eye-candy/siege map ^.^ |

no, i can't guess how. How? You could use this to hide where enemy invasions are comming. |

Well I originally put a flag at where I wanted the invasions to come from, but when they did come the flag disapeared so I was abit dissapointed with that..
I also noticed that you could place buildings anywhere on the map without them being destroyed ;) |

A flag?...What kind of flag? As far as I know invasions absolutely must have signposts for the invasions to work. |

Playability: 4
I had fun playing it, the castle looked tiny at first but seemed to be all I needed.
Balance: 4
The invasions were a tad too easy, never really got into my keep.
Creativity: 3
Nothing very creative about the map except the floating flag thing, that was pretty cool.
Map Design: 2
Pretty boring map. Take a hour or two and learn how to make your maps look good. BTW the stream went UP a hill in one place. Not so good.
Story/Instructions: 4
Fun story, 'specially the part where you come into it. :D
Additional Comments:
Cool map! Take my tips on map design and make a few more. Good luck!
