In times of great difficulties, your lands had encountered severe soil problems.Huge green plains turned into deserts, eventually trees died even the mighty cactus fell.Despite all that nature had turn against humans by inflicting drought on their lands.Men had desired for new lands, many had gathered what they still have and set out, looking for a new home.Eventually lords fought lords over pieces of land that gradually turned into dry soil.
You as the lord, watched as your people died one by one every month, yearned for a new plain where oasis streched out upon the lands. These could only be found in your dreams, but you were determined to find one...
"My faithful servents, today,i've decided to evacuate this city for the sake of the lands we had dreamed." you said
"Aye mi lord..we shall prepare and we could set out before sunset" your servents said.
At sunset camels of good had been prepared there were only a few people left to follow you.Your started your journey at May 1024 ad,
at July, two thirds of your men had suffered from exhaustion and hunger, many died before you.You yourself had not been able to withstand the heat of the desert and wanted to lay still right there and wait for the sands to bury you.
But your desire took over you,you journeyed long and far,in the end there was only a camel and a servant escorting you, eventually,he died leaving you with the camel. At October 1025 ad,you finally reached a land, the last remaining land with oasis. You immeadietly ran towards the peaceful swaying of grass, everything seemed like what you had dreamed for until a knight rushed before you.
"No one gets these lands from my lord,if you want it then you will have to pass through us" he said before dragging you off the oasis.
You had to win the land or you will not be forgiven by those who had died for you. Those who died accompanying you,you swore to yourself and now its time for the war which will determine your fate.
Can you stand the heat or you will fall?

Hi xflamex!
The map looks nice. I think starvation is going to be a prob here. Dont you think it needs more oasis grass? |

HI xflamex!, here's my review on the map after playing against Saladin,Caliph and Richard the lionhearted
Playability: 4
I've seen that u've updated the map, but still you didn't seem to fix one little prob i faced. The lower right player (keep) has probelms concerning finishing it's fortifications.Since most ai's have large castles i decided to place myself there. Apart from that i had no problems esp sudden death of lords. It was a fun 3v1 game quite hard actually. In such dersert maps its better to choose arabian ai's.
Balance: 4
I was wrong the first time when i said there weren't much room for farms. More than 9 farms could be placed. I had a rough time gathering food. Since i played with caliph and saladin, food was hard to get esp when the oasis was filled with slaves burning down my farms. Now to iron/stone: the map seemed to have a fair amount of resources. The lower right keep had an advantage of stone being much closer to the keep. Due the geographical makeup of the map,one could get confused placing iron mines. Some were on the dunes.
Creativity: 5
Although this sort of map has been done before. But this is somewhat different.I loved the idea of battling for the oasis. It created a real challenge. It took me some time to take controll of the oasis. And when i finally did, ai's couldn't gather much food ipso-facto became less agile. Particularly Salain who put mills, bakery, brewery etc to sleep since he couldn't get to the oasis.Richard had a smaller version of his castle;had no problems.
Map Design: 4
I have a feeling that this isn't the first map u've made. The reason i've given u a 4 on this is: The sand dunes needed a little finishing touches and alot was focused on the side of the map. Great design overall. If u concerntrate on a little more details on the design the maps a 5.though u placed additional deer as a source of food,(deer in deserts?)i didn't go for meat. The reason: my hunters kept getting slaughtered by enemy troops.Try placing a little lesser amounts of stone/iron in your maps. The quantity was moderate in the map
Story/Instructions: 5
A good story. It fits the map perfectly. like the story says one had to fight for the oasis. Quote:-"No one gets these lands from my lord,if you want it then you will have to pass through us".
Additional Comments:
A good challenge. I enjoyed it.You have great potentials in designing and hope u'll come up with better ones. Keep mapping
