Built on a placein the desert on a pass between two deserts in a oasis. The fortress of Klis play an important role in defending and controling arabic lands.Due to its strategic position,it is a undoubtedly one of the beter castles in arabic lands.
The mission is to hold invasions. There is no help from the sultan. The castle is alone.
Playability: 3
I'm sorry, but it wasn't the best map I've ever played. It took so long for the game to really start. I just basically sat there with nothing to do but wait for the first charge, prety boring. I also didn't like the castle. It was very crowded and I generaly have my stuff a little more spread out and defenitly not so many gate houses, but I can appreciate the layout of the floorplan.
Balance: 5
The amount of invading forces definetly keeps you on your toes. Mabye add some fire startes to the invaders because of how densely built the castle is.
On the negative, for defence a caslte that is a key component is also generally going to have anit siege weapons, like a moat and the mounted balista.
Creativity: 2
I felt you really lacked some originality. I can see what you tried to do with the waterfall, but it looked like a rush job, not very smooth faces.
Map Design: 2.5
The caslte to me just felt badly laid out. I had a difficult time finding any of my structures without the keyboard quick keys, I don't generaly use them.
Story/Instructions: 3
The lay of the land is what generaly makes the location of a castle so very strategically placed. You had enemy coming from both side contradicting this part of the story, besides the land itself not looking the part either. I think a better laid river would have made this more true to the story and instead of an isthmus conecting the two lands a ford acrose the river would have been better.
Additional Comments:
I think there were good ideas in there they just need some better quality time to be put into them and maby check out some real castle designs on the web. I think you would make an excelent star castle scenerio. Basically a castle that dosen't just have four walls on each side, but slanted walls to help repel incoming projectiles.
