Bloody Hell!! the sound echoed throughout the great hall of Clan McDuane. As I stood trembling before the Clan Lord I noticed Lord Ian's knuckles were white and his arms trembled with rage as he gripped his broadsword with both hands. With a carefully controlled voice he said, "Are you telling me that those snilveling lowlanders, those cowardly dogs are actually attacking us in our own hills?" I sank to my knees and said, "My Lord it pains me to tell you but they hit us with overwhelming force, even now they are capturing our quarries and iron mines; they are cutting and burning our forests. My Lord we were barely able to prevent them from invading the plateau itself." Lord Ian rose, clasping his great sword before him swore a great oath. " We will kill or enslave every man of them. We will take their land and from their women's bodies reap a new crop of clansmen." Lord Ian strode from the hall, to rouse the Clan to war, with perfect confidence. I, however, feared we would be the ones enslaved.
Obviously I planned for the player to take the plateau and to play against up to seven allied Lords. I believe you can have all eight positions filled with little or no castle cramping. The mercenary post is disabled as a Celtic Clan Lord would have no opportunity to hire mercenaries. Playing against seven Lords can be very difficult due to a built in limit on the total number of soldiers, my advice is to have at least one easy opponent like the Snake to eventually get a larger army to take on the stronger opponents or play against fewer Lords.
