the people of ur small coastal village r being attacked by feirce tribul maniacs from the island off shore 2 get 2 it u must go down into the cave your people have feared this cave for the last decade because anyone who has ever gone in has never returned your village doesnt have the military power 2 stop them taking your villagers but a new weapon design has been dreamed up by ur engineers the mace its time u went into the cave and found out whats on the other side

Review for file "island trouble"

Playability: 3
The map was a very fun map to play. I thought it was a little too easy, though. It would have helped if the player has more space.

Balance: 3
The enemy land took up 30% of the land, the water takes up about 40%, and the cliffs take up around 15% of the map. The rest of the 15% isn't enough to construct a well-built castle. That is what I didn't like.

Creativity: 3
The creativity was good. Pretty good design too. I can't think of anythink else to say.

Map Design: 4
It would've been more of 3.7. The design was good, but just a 30 minutes more with the design would've given it a 5.

Story/Instructions: 5
I don't care about stories at all. I read them, but I'm not my writing teacher to give it a score. So you give you a 5.

This was really an easy map. There was only about 2 events in the entire course of the map. I'm not gonna do a whole page on scripting but, you really need a few things to spice this map up. Which means events. Have a small occasional invasion, or a bandit attack in your maps. Have plague and fire occuring every so often(once every year and half maybe?). Get the cows to die, have wolves ravaging the countryside, makes the apples barren, raise up weevil and have a drought that kills all the trees. Have the Rat send his messages to make you tremble in fear of his imperial troops. Anything, just try to make the map interesting and more of a challenge. I found that the map itself was easy. I built a massive settlement in no time. Had about 5 graneries, all full, something like 15,000 gold (I'm harsh at taxes). A fully functional army that had 100 crossbows and 150 macemen, not to mention 3 sige towers and 10 shields. Just take out the troops surrounding with a few volleys of 100 crossbows, put up your siges towers on the towers surrounding and start sniping with the macemen guarding. The Iron men are gone. The poor prisoners that you had were neglected. I never used them.

Balance: 2
To make this map a challenge, you needed to have given them archers and crossbows. Really It was more of question of how long it would take to win than if I would. Not to mention that there were so many bad things while I had good so I ended having a 50% advantage over them.

Creativity: 3
Well there wasnt much that was original about this map. Nothing of particular interest that makes me go wow. Try and add it in your maps in some way.

Map Design: 3
Not bad the castle was nice, simple yet very imposing and a bit difficult to raverse if you attempt to knock it down. A nice little swamp for the prisoners and a quiet peaceful glade for you to begin your settlement, as well a rather marshy and smelly tunnel to reach the Iron men. Adding some more detail(stones, dirt etc) would be good

Story/Instructions: 2
I beg of you: STOP USING ABBREVIATIONS!. They are really distracting and rather annoying. Also more attempts at spelling and puctuation would'nt go astray either.

You have the potenial to make some great maps, just work on your scripting and balance. Good luck!
