-the isles of three-

the islands was once deserted, due to a disease that quarantined the small villages that once thrived on each island, but now you come, seeking to bring life to this disease struck place.
you arrive on one of the islands.
to you surprise ,you find the island inhabited, you look around,"a village with no castle to defend it?" you say to yourself.
walking around a bit,you run across a peaseant."where is the king of this petty village?" you ask."his lordship resides in the hut over yonder",the peaseant points to the direction of a fairly bigger hut then the rest.
you enter the unenclosed hut, finding a man sitting at a square table."are you the king of this village?" the man looks at you and stands from where he was sitting."yes i am,king john,i have not seen your face before, are you a merchant?" he asks."no,i came here to ressurect this ill place".
the man looks at you,a smile spreads across his wrinkled face."are you a lord?"
"yes,my father was lord of the kingdom i grew up in,but now i am lord, since his death three years ago".
the man falls to his knees, you are quite startled of this act of his."please! i beg you my lord!! my village has been attacked many a times and i fear the next attack will be my last day"."who has attacked you, king john?".
"the other kings residing on the two islands! help me!!".he starts to sound as if he was about to cry,"my wife....was killed by those scoundrels!!,please help me!!"
"he is starting to get hysterical" you think to yourself.
"old man!!,calm down!!"you shout at the top of your lungs.the old man suddenly stops crying and begging."now, why are these knaves attacking your village?"
the king grimaces,"those...so called kings, are brothers who decided that since i am so unprotected, why not take my island for extra resources".shocked by how he has ever survived you ask him,"i did have help by a friend of mine who was the commander of all of king leons troops, but he was killed in one of the attacks"."why do you not ask king leon for help?" you ask."i have not been able to get my messenger across the ford,he does not want to be killed by the archers of the enemys that wait on the road to king leons".
he looks up at you again,"please, help me and my people,i beseech you".
you of course help him.

build a castle and army to defend king john and his people.
good luck ^-^

Dido HuH!!!The design is good, but usually I atack with horse archers and maceman! This marsh make my army very slowwwwwwwwwww and the enemy's archers just don't miss to hit someone! Can you change this mess with grass or desert?! ;-/
Timballisto Lol that would kind or ruin the point. If your current strategy doesn't work then you just need to find another one more suitable for the situation. The most resourceful and flexible player will probably be the winner, so long as they use that resourcefulness and flexibility correctly ;) .
monkcrazy5 actually...i use the same strategy as you, i just use trebeches, too.
AZ ViTrAzhAs Playability: 4
(Some computer opponents didn't have enough place for their castles, but for multiplayer 1vs2 this is perfect :) )

Balance: 4
(I would flag the map unbalanced but still the all the players have enough resources etc.)

Creativity: 5
( Nice idea covering the map with fjords and those little green islands in the middle look very pretty :) )

Map Design: 5
(Colorful attractive map, nice work :) )

Story/Instructions: 5
(A very good story for your work, enjoyed reading :) )

Overall, a really great map to play. While some of the AI's don't work, as stated, it's good points outweigh the bad. My normal strategy is to use large groups of pike and mace men to attack, supported by trebuchets and fire balistas. Problem? Usually, only for the defender.....in this case, the swamp slowed down my forces, and I didn't have a safe distance to set up my seige equipment. This forced me to re-examine my tactics, and come up with a different one. This was good, and offered a challenge. I liked how the same old wouldn't work.

Speaking of same old, that was exactly what was NOT in this map. While there was an abundance of resources, allowing a large army buildup, the map design itself is different. The island war theme is not an often seen thing.

As for the story, there's no such thing as too much for a skirmish, considering most skirmish maps have one or two lines total.

In short, a refreshing change. Kudos, and keep designing!

Regards,

L_K
