The Price Of War

The land has been to war for far too long. When returning to your hometown Smalllake after a long campaign for the King, you meet a town which has been just as much in war as you have. It has barely survived. Its people are tired, hungry and afraid.
You have information indicating that the enemy will return for this strategicaly important town.
To meet this threat you must get the town on its feet again. The people need their hope and trust up again. Not to mention the morale and tiredness of your troops - they need some R&R!!!

This town needs a leader or else its lost - are you the one ???

The map size is fairly small. You have the resources needed for sucess, but you must be smart about it.
There will be an minor attack fairly soon - protect your woodcutters the best you can !!

I´ve tried hard to make it a challenge both on the resource and battle sides. There are no marketplace advantages -
you have to get what you need yourself :)

The scenario is for about 16-18 years. I have testplayed it alot on normal and I hope it will
be a lot of fun for both novices (easy mode) and for experts (normal/hard).

Hope you enjoy it

Playability: 2...Because the only kind of food I was allowed to feed my people was cheese. At first the author starts you out with a few apple orchards wich are nice, but once they were destroyed in the first invasion, it was cheeseville from there on, and thats hard. I had the option to grow wheat, but the ability to build windmills was not there so I had no reason to grow it. To sell?...well, there was a market, but everything in it was turned off, so it was basicaly just a building. There were plenty of deer on the map, but the ability to build a hunters hut was not present, so I couldnt hunt them for food. In essence, my people starved to death...not a site for the squeamish. Balance: 3...I know I dont play invasions much but ten minutes after I started playing this invasion I felt as if there were no hope, but it could just be that i'm not that adept at invasions,...I think it was seeing dozens of cow farms everywhere, and the scribe constantly nagging me about the grainery being empty,...just left me feeling helpless and stressed a bit. Creativity: 4...The theme about the war torn village and you taking on the role of a guy who's going to fortify and defend it was very appealing to me, and the map seemed to fit right in. I usually give a four if its an idea that seems creativly unique. Map Design: 4...A very well done map, very nice to look at, and believable. Alot of time went into designing this map, and it shows. Story/Instructions: 4...The story was interesting in the fact that it is an event that very well could, and probably did, take place sometime during medieval days. The instructions were well done with a read-me, and a overhead shot of the map included.
