This is my third map and I think I'm getting better at making maps.
Please, download it and tell me your conclusion.
The Year 1066. You are settled in your own castle nearby the beautiful place Kirkwall, Scotland. In that area is the only
source of oil and the Wolf wants it badly.
The big bad Wolf has already taken England.
Ireland belongs now to the Pig and almost every inch of Scotland is occupied by the Rat.
You have already lost a huge number of your men fighting against the evil barbarians.
You're now the last one of the 'Knights of the Forrest'. All the other knights have fought wel... but none of them were able to stop the invasions. Now it's your turn.
There goes the rumour that they have made a evil plan to attack you, all together! Especially the two major attacks, are very impressive... so the local people said.
I thougt it was in the year 1087.... they said.
That is a serious threat!
So be prepared....
Tips:
* Build Towers, or they'll run you over
* Get your stones quick
* Train crossbowmen and/or archers
* Be alert for a massive enemy army
* Build wells
* Make sure you get enough food
* Find a safe route to get oil.
As usual, I first played on Easy to learn the terrain features (for building and for defense) and the enemy movement patterns. And then on Very Hard to test what I had learned earlier.
The non-ceasing invasions kept me on my toes as I had to guard my little settlement very closely and expansion was really difficult for quite some time. I was rewarded, though, for playing it slowly and surely and finally managed to control the entire map. So while keeping the invaders from moving far from the signposts, I was able to meet the economic requirements with little difficulty from that point.
And excellent map to sharpen your defensive skills. One of the best I've seen for some time.

Thanks Sir Lurchalot, this is my third map (and the best). But number four is almost ready... Would you mind, giving this map a rating?
Thanks.

Hi, Lord Fourteen,
I'm very sorry, but I don't give numerical ratings to maps. The reason is that ratings are totally subjective (depends entirely on the tastes of the reviewer) and really don't mean anything. What one player likes, another would dislike. And that's why ALL things like talent and beauty constests have AT LEAST three judges and those same judges rate everyone. That way you have at least some consistancey - here, you do not.
But you can still feel proud because I gave you the highest "rating" I've ever given anyone - by saying I enjoyed the map very much. {smile) If you'll look around, I probably go through 50 maps before I'll say that about one. Actually, the HUGE najority of them aren't worth playing (by MY tastes, remember) {smile} so rather than be negative about them I just don't say anything.
I'm really looking forward to your next map!!!

Hey, Lord Fourteen, on my map "Shipwrecked!" Sparrow retracted your review, because he said it was just comments. Could you redo it?

Perhaps someone can rate this map, and tell me what you liked or disliked on the map?
