Hello all! I know what you are saying, "Not another Helm's Deep". I assure you, this one is like no other. I have worked on this map for a very long time and am glad to submit it so everyone can enjoy. I have play tested this map over and over again and the playability is perfect.
You all know the story behind the battle so I have no need to re-tell it. The men and women of Edoras leave for Helm's Deep, hoping for protection. Saruman's army of ten thousand Uruk-hai marches on towards Helm's Deep. It is an army bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of men.
This is important for perfect gameplay: The riders of rohan are in the bottom left corner of the map, hacking at segments of wall so they can get out and win the battle. So keep an eye out for when they appear during the battle.
I think this is one of the best looking Helm's Deep maps I've seen. Although, I have seen better than mine, but this one is definitely worth having a go at.
UPDATE: I have updated the map:
- better castle design
- more attackers (in perfect formation)
- longer gameplay
UPDATE 2: I have updated it for the second time.
- no longer need to manually control the rohirrim to break out
I hope you all enjoy my version of Helm's Deep. All reviews and comments are welcome.

if you looked to the movie you would see that the vally was straight. it didn't get any narrower until past the deeping wall. and what i could see in the movies i would think that the uruk-hai came over the same hill as gandalf the white eomer and the rohhirim did.
if would be honoured if you would apreciate my comments.
your loyal servant.

Anyone else wish to rate? Please do. Currently, this map's rating is 3.7 and I am a bit dissappointed. Oh well, I hope someone else rates.[Edited on 06/16/07 @ 05:54 PM]

Playability: 5
I cannot believe how the playability acted on this map. It was excellent. I have downloaded many maps of Helm's Deep, but never have I come across one like this. Every soldier you have, you have to use. You can't watch them, you actually have to play... not like other Helm's Deeps.
Balance: 5
Balance was perfect. I had 7 troops left before I killed the last enemy. Fantastic. Everything was timed perfectly and synchronized smoothly with the movie.
Creativity: 4.5
Not a five but it was very good. This idea is very original, but the score is still high because it is a great map.
Map Design: 5
Unbelievable. Looks just like from the movie. I can't believe how much detail there is.
Story/Instructions: 5
Story is good. This shouldn't bring down the score because I don't worry too much about stories. Good instructions and a short paragraph on the story.
Additional Comments:
Perfect in every way. Two thumbs up. Three if I could. lol |

Thankyou my friend. Best wishes to your studies:)
Now, an earlier comment was brought up by strongholder nl. You said the rohirrim came over the same hill as the uruk-hai. No, not likely.
Thankyou to everyone[Edited on 09/29/07 @ 11:52 PM]

This map is overall good if you ask me. But i've one important note to tell. When the cavalary is running into the second wall, they stop attacking the second wall... so i will have to do it on my own. But i really can't because i need to organise my defenses. So fix this little problem please ^^ |

Hmm, I'm a little confused there by what you mean. Which cavalry? The rohirrim or the cavalry behind the keep?
And what second wall?
Although, I think I do understand what you mean. Horsemen can not get on or over walls, but they can if you order them to attack someone who is on the other side. I hope I've been a help, good luck. |

No I Mean the Rohhirim that has to destroy the wall to save Helms Deep ( with Gandalf in the movie ) I do not mean the cavalary in the Keep. The cavalary that has to break out is first destroying a wall, and then runs into a second wall that they will also have to destroy, but I will have to control them to attack this wall manually. But I don't have time to check all the time because the defending costs a lot of time. |
