It is the year 1343 and a war has been erupting for the last year and a half between a kingdom of rich and beautiful cities and a kingdom ruled under a cruel lord.
In 1341, just before the war started, the two lords came together in a friendly meeting to form an alliance between the two kingdoms. Before this event, they were not known to each other. They sent messages to one another and then they agreed they would meet not at a city, but at an oasis. The kind and brave lord suggested this. He didn’t not like the idea of a neutral lord being in his city. He had a bad feeling about it because the other lord was neither enemy nor ally.
They met under the cool shade of a tree next to a watering hole 10 miles from the closest town. Both lords had a small party of troops. The lords stood at least three meters apart, not once taking their eyes off each other until an elegant man stepped forward and announced the names of both the lords, ‘King Agather and King Edward are brought here to pledge allegiance to each other…’ and he droned on…
King Edward, the kind and brave. King Agather, the cruel and heartless. King Edward did not know how cruel the other was. A few moments past and the elegant man was still talking, then he handed King Agather a scroll of paper and a feathered pen to sign. He finished and handed it to the kind lord. King Edward took the scroll and realised the other lord was smiling like the devil. It was unusual but everything was going good so far so he continued to sign.
Suddenly, an assassin lunged forward at King Edward! There was no time to think! He was stabbed in the shoulder before a group of spearmen hurried to save their king. The assassin was slaughtered in an instant. The two groups of soldiers fought each other and one of the spearmen yelled, ‘Sir, get out of here now! We’ll hold them off!’
King Edward grasped at his shoulder as he ran back through the rocky desert and away from the small battle. King Agather was furious. The plan did not go as well as he thought it would. He was supposed to kill King Edward and claim the kingdom as his. The cruel lord now had one more enemy; but this enemy, was like no other. King Agather made the biggest mistake of his life.
Reckless Hate - Part 2
After successfully defending the city of Dragorsk, half of what is left of King Edward’s army, tracks off into the desert to look for their lord. Meanwhile, the other half prepares to attack one of King Agather’s small fortresses. It is situated fifteen miles west from Dragorsk, in amongst eroded and rocky hills. The fortress is known not to be heavily defended, but that does not mean it will be easy. The cruel lord is a cunning and devious person; he is also great for his intelligence of killing traps. Not just killing traps either, all kinds of traps. There are only two ways to access the fortress: the front gatehouse and the back gatehouse. It is impossible to get through the side walls because the rocky hills block them off.
The small army that is preparing to attack this fortress is gathering at the keep of Dragorsk. One pikeman steps forward and speaks to his exhausted troops.
‘Alright men,’ he says loudly. ‘What has happened here today is tragic. We have lost at least one hundred civilians and soldiers… but is that going to stops us from retaliating?!’
The crowd of soldiers roars. Many are furious, many have lost families.
‘How hard have we worked in our lives?!’ the spearman continues. ‘How much pain and suffering have we endured?! How many of your friends and family members have died over war?! Wars started over such reckless hate! SO ARE YOU GOING TO LET THIS DRAG YOU DOWN OR ARE YOU GOING TO FIGHT?!’
The crowd roars louder than ever. Aggressiveness is smoking through the air. Hatred stirs.
‘You have one hour to prepare yourselves. Then we will attack back at our enemy.’
The small army separates as the spearman also walks off. No-one knows if King Agather will be hiding there. It is highly unlikely because it is the closest of his fortresses to Dragorsk. But just to set the score even, they will attack back and kill as many people as they can.
I hope you enjoy the second part of my series.

I've downloaded and played this map also, and to my disapointment, it wasn't as good as the first map. Though, that one would be hard to top I suppose. The beginning was really slow and boring to watch... you put the army up nicely, but you just walk through the mountain, and with your swordsmen that takes alot of time...
Otherwise it was ok. It's an interesting concept.
I felt it was too easy. I just walked in without any plan or thought really, and still I managed to kill everyone. It looked really hard, or rather impossible. But it turned out it wasn't so hard.
Well yeah, interesting idea. But in map design or anything in the terrain there's nothing too interesting. Alot of map already have the idea to enter through a 'back door'.
Map Design: 3.5
I've never liked the crusader map editor, which is why i've never made any map on crusader (i've made one though...) Even so, a little more could be added in this map. It doesn't actually look natural as it looks now.
Not a huge improvement, but somehow this one was better. This one earns a 5.
Overall not as good as the first one (should be noted that the first one kicked ass though), but still worth the download. I hope you don't mind me writing less in this review, but generally there's less to say about this map.
