Isengard was once a peaceful place. Under the Tower of Orthanc, trees and grasses grew, and the peoples of Middle Earth visited Isengard, lying in the shadow of the Tower. But When Beren, Steward of Gondor gave Isengard to Saruman the White, the fate of Isengard was cast into shadow. Saruman was of the Wise, and was learned in the art of the Enemy, the Nameless Shadow that lurked in the land of Mordor. Little did Beren know that Saruman's knowledge of the Enemy came from direct contact with Him himself. Saruman, under orders from the Nameless shadow, changed many things of Isengard that were once what made the fortress beautiful. He fortified Orthanc, with ideas that he thought were his own, but were simply copies of the Enemy's fortress. He forested the trees of the Fangorn for fuel. He dammed the river Isen, which had once flowed through Isengard's valley. He fouled the air with smoke from great furnaces. He bread men with foul orcs, creating the Uruk-hai. As his forces grew, the peace that once had settled above Isengard lessened. Finally, Saruman had the forces to assault the men of Rohan.
Rohan knew of this. They knew they had one last chance to defeat Saruman's armies. Théoden sent out a great fore of Rohirrim to strengthen the ranks of the soldiers already fighting Saruman's forces in the Fords of Isen. This is the great battle of our time. Take Isengard and make Saruman suffer!
Goals
1. Kill Saruman (Lord)
2. Kill most of his Uruk-hai
3. Do so before renforcements from Mordor arrive
This map was 'officaly' announced awhile ago. Sence then, I've completed the map, thired submiting it (zip file was courrpted), forgotabout it, played other video games for quite a while, and finaly resubmited it
This map has you sieging the Fortress of Isengard with a medium sized (compared to my Black Gate map) army. You must kill Saruman (lord) and much of his army before his reniforcements arrive (timer). I hope this map is more, er, stragititic than my last Lord of the Rings map, and that you enjoy it just as much as I enyouded making it. Except for playtesting and balencing. That's hard, boring stuff. |

I think he knows, probably just a typo, because the s and d are right next to eachother on the keyboard. |

I thought the river flowed through Isengard... not around it. In the movie, the Ents pull the wall down and then there is a big flood. |

If I may Sir Dragonheart.
It is correct that in the movie the river flows throughn Isengard. This is also how it happens in the book but in the book and film it are also the ents who defeat Isengard. In my opinion it doesn't give shit (sorry for my choice of words) how the river flows. it would also proprably be too easy or to hard to defeat Saruman. |

the river doesnt actually flow through isengard.
its flow past it! If you read the two towers you will know that when riders stop at the ford crossing over the river isen and it was bare and dry. it is not until the night that the ents break the dam and the water flows back along its path.
The only reason the water is in isengard is because the ents channel most of the water towards isengard to destroy the factories and orks left underground.
Its a very nice map!
Well Done :] |

Playability: 5
Well what can i say? It was fun still tryen to beet it =/
Balance: 4
A bit hard. at first i thaught it was a kill the lord kind of mission so I entered the enemy keep with like 100 swordsmen and like 40 pikemen, only to be picked off by the dozens of crossbowmen all along the walls. I havnt beaten it yet =/ Ive tried like 30 time now.
Creativity: 5
Well its was good, not that many isenguards out thier. I was thinking about a 4 for this because the castle could have been more creative.
Map Design: 3
this is what hurts the score =( first thier was nothing to decorate the ground. All that was thier was a bunch of plain hills. The caslte could have been a little better. the river looked nice and so did the dam. Units on the walls were placed good. Your army is set up perfectly. I like seeing all the rows of swordsmen, horsemen, and archers all in rows.
Story/Instructions: 5
You had one thats all that really matters ;)
