This is a trick that i found out by my self, only using one tunneler (or more), and some walls.
INSTRUCKTIONS:
Step 1:
Buy the tunneler guild and buy one or more tunnelers
Step 2:
Make a corridor of stonewalls nad block one of the ends.
Step 3:
Take your tunneler intro your corridor and send him all the way back to the blocked end.
Step 4:
Tell you tunneler to dig.
Step 5:
Block the other entrance of the corridor before the tunneler gets out
The effect:
You tunneler will stop at find both entrances blocked, this makes the tunneler stop and stand still for about 15 seconds or less.
Then he suddely starts digging inside of the corridor, just as he would do normally. When he get halfway down his mine he is teleported to his mine nearby the enemy wall!
He will continue to dig and crush the wall.
WIth this trick you can get many of you tunnelers get as close to the enemy walls without being shot at.
The download is a map where i made the tunnelers inside the corridor, there you can see what happens. |

I think i saw it once, but I thought it's just a bug or smth.. Still this is very useful playing against human, just what 50 tunellers can do with the enemy wall and towers! :D Thanks a lot for sharing your hints..

Nice bit of information there. This will mean that castles are no longer as safe as they once were. |

In the Crusader Warhest edition you can't assign tunnelers to dig from inside your castle. They'll be able to dig only if they're within the range of enemy castles. |

Maybe i am wrong , surajsubba, but i think you should try doing this: build a corridor or a square form using walls and leave a small path. Order your tunnelers to march inside, and then get them to dig. Then (when the tunnelers will be running outside from the corridor, block it) Then you should see the result. I also forgot to mention that this little hint works for oil smelter. Block your smelter with walls and leave a little path, then order two engineers to maintain it. When one of the engineers will head to the stockpile to get pitch, block the exit. Now the engineer will get the pitch from the stockpile without going near the goods. This hint just saves time, maybe for guys which use the hot tactics this hint will be helpful. (I use many different tactics :D) [Edited on 05/29/07 @ 01:39 PM]

I dont know if thats possible to do without The tunneler trick....[Edited on 07/11/07 @ 08:20 AM]

but you have to build the corridors near the enemy or you can't make the tunnel entrance. annoying vs caliph or pig. |

evil_space_cows, you don't have to build the corridors near the enemy, construct near your castle. Then order your tunnelers to go inside, lower the speed to minimum. Now get them to dig, when they will be running out block the entrance and wait. Then you should see the result. |

The basick prinsipe is to tell a tunneler to dig and block his way before he can reach that spot.
You could do it from every single spot on the map, as long as the tunneler could get there without the trick |

very clever.
On the off chance that i decide I'm desperate enough to use tunnelers, this might help in the future =). |
