The End of Comatre

Author File Description

Map Size: 160x160 (Tiny)
Difficulty: Easy
Minimap:
Its my first Stronghold map...ever, for any game...for heavengames...or anything else...so be gentle! Theres little to add on to the previous description. Basically, the invader has a pretty big army, and the defender has a smaller one. Technically, the Attacker is supposed to win (That's why its called the 'end'), but its still possible for the defenders to survive. No readme though, so just put it in maps (If you don't know where, like I would have).

Playability: 4
I found this siege to be very enjoyable. A sense of true purpose kept me retrying the map several times. "I have to save the kingdom!" In the end, I achieved victory with 94% of troops killed.

Balance: 5
This map, played from Defender's side (as obviously intended) is extremely hard, but still very possible. I applaud the designer. You have good talent at making hard, but possible maps, keep it up!

Creativity: 3
The ruins were interesting. You used plenty of boulders in it. Using the old, dry buildings as firewood was pretty clever too.

Map Design: 3
You made a good use of trees, and rocks, and especially shrubs, and your castle design was pretty interesting! I would definitely brush up on your elevation knowledge. That's the only major weak point in the map design.

Story/Instructions: 3
A good paragraph with excellent wording choice and with a clear instructions statement. The story itself is strangely involving, giving one a sense of purpose, a "I have to win!" feeling.

Additional Comments:

Is this really your first ever map? My goodness, you've got talent, and have obviously studied other maps quite well. Check some of the articles on the main page about elevation and natural terrain. If you do that, you'll quickly be making even better maps.

Good work!
