Life in the desert is centered around water. The bank of the Nyle River (almost Nile but not quite) was packed with houses, farms and small cities. The central government maintained dams, dikes and canals that kept the river under control. Under ordindary conditions this worked well and the annual spring flood was controlled and benign. However, this system was overcome by a castastrophic flood which breached the dikes and destroyed the entire system. This disaster was so severe that 70% of the population died and the central government collapsed. The survivors fled to the desert and slowly began to organize into four cities on each side of the river. You have forced the cities on your side of the river to become your allies by dint of overwhelming force. Your ultimate aim is to conquer the remaining cities and reestablish the central government under your leadership of course.
Another of your great skirmishes, Von Kamstra. If only I had such skills as you :D

Ooh, wunderbar map!Von Kamstra, I played your map for hours, so I'll rate it.For appreciation to your work. So, I played this map like this: I and Philip in the center of the left side VS Caliph, Nizar, Wazir, Frederick on the right.Deathmatch 10 000 : 10 000 gold.It was really tough fight.I had many problems with Frederick, who almost killed me.i atacked him with about 200 horse archers, but because of the ford, I didn't even touched his castle.I killed him for hour and a half siege, lol :D.Now the rating:
Playability: 5.Very lol map.Possibly one of my favourites.I hated the ford in the middle, but this makes the map more attractive. The AIs built their castles without any problems(especialy Fred :D).The empty spaces in the ford gived me the opportunity to atacks my enemy's castles with trebuchets and balistas.
Balance: 5.Just great.Everyone has enought space for economy and enough close recourses.Everytime when I made a wheat farm, Frederick camed and destroyed evrything in the oasis :D, but the pitch has done great job in this case :D.
Creativity: 4.For 3rd time I'm saying: "I don't explonations for creativity".The idea isn't so new, but still I had great fun.
Map Design: 4.The design is pleasing. In many of your maps I see many sharp edges or perfectly square mealed parts. My advice is to pay more attention to the design. And don't fill the whole map with details :)
Story: 5.You have it.Boring or not, it requires it's attention.
Additional comments: WOA!!!I'm not so lazy as I tought.Great job.My favourite map style is the skirmish. You make only skirmishes :) Your maps are great.Just pay more attention to the details.
Hoyahoyaaaaay,
Lord Malachi

Thanks for the review. You are right I mostly make skirmish maps because that is what I like to play. The format is so flexible you can set the conditions up the way you want.

A very different Von Kamstra map. Clever use of ford here, slowing down the invading troops. You must be the only author with the most number of 8 player maps.
Thank you for the map.

Thanks surajsubba,
It does take a lot of planning to make an eight player map that works. You really have to watch and limit the use of elevation and details.
