Ravens Scar is the name given to this tranquil, peaceful setting on the bend of a river. It's natural beauty has always been admired and is a natural resting place for weary travellers, offering shelter from the weather. Fresh water runs from the hills in babbling brooks and game can be hunted here. The origins of the name are unclear, however there was once a small religious gathering here and it could be that the name derives from the cliffs and the once abundant ravens that still nest here each year. There are no remains of the previous settlers here, save the large rock that is placed in the centre of the fertile land. It appears that a huge stone such as this must have been moved deliberately as it seems somewhat out of place.
It seems a perfect setting to build a small settlement, with sufficient raw materials and fertile land to offer your people some of the finer things of medieval life!
This map may appeal to those that want to freebuild in a more natural, realistic setting, albeit small. I have not locked the map, so you may do what you wish with it. If anyone wishes to use the map design as a basis for one of your own maps, to load onto the site, please feel free to do so.
Playability - 4 - This is a very playable freebuild map. Its possible to build the castle you dream of here, with enough choices to make it replayable. I liked that while there were enough resources they weren't so abundant or easily accessible as to leave no challenge in planning.
Balance - 4 - As Balance is very hard to access in a freebuild this is just an average of the marks from the other categories.
Creativity - 3 - No particularly creative features stood out in this map.
Map Design - 4 - A well put together attractive map. I particularly liked the area with the stone/iron.
Story/Instructions - 4 - A good though fairly short storyline that explains what the author had in mind when creating the map and accurately portrays what you can expect from it.
