Towered Monstrosity

Author File Description

File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Hard
Minimap:
"The Towered Monstrosity?" said the old man, "Aye, heard of it I have, twas said to be a castle that could not be sieged!" "All things must come to an end however, you see young master, there was a crafty general who wanted the castle for himself. For it sat on a plain near the ocean, and from there he could build himself a port, and become wealthy." "He raised an army, and marched on the castle, and then..."

--------------------------------------------------

Basically this castle consists of a large number of towers connected by bits of wall. Normally a Siege That map is quite easy, but the castle sits in a position that most will find quite annoying at the beginning. Don't worry it's not impossible; just like with every castle there's a trick to breaking it!

Lord Tanthos Not bad, certainly harder than most Siege-that! maps I've seen.

Your castle's score was 2,094 when I was done. My strategy was rather simple and unexpected but was effective due to a serious design failure--nearly everyone was in the front.

Here's my hint for this mission:

"Make a frontal flanking assault."

Like I said, just as with every castle there's a trick to beating it. I could have put more archers and crossbowmen on the side and rear towers, but I chose not to.
Paradox_king Its an interesting strategy, but a FRONTAL FLANKING assault doesen't work too well. I hope you can see the error...

Once I reinstall Stronghold I'll try this out.

evil_space_cows I just snuck up the back, whitch was directest thng i could think of without being utterly suicidal.
odiss3us 200 pikemen took the castle without the slightest effort. Less than 5 of them lost.
