"YOU'RE A FOOL FOOBLE A DAMNED FOOL!" the old man shouted, spraying flecks of spittle into my face, "THE RAT HAS TRAINED SOLDIERS! Discard this foolish banditry notion of yours, and move on!"
"Pipe down old man!" I shouted back at him, "Anyone who wishes to come with me may do so, I will start my own group of bandits! And we'll rule ourselves, away from the stinking rat that claims lordship over us! Outlaws he may declare us, but we will be free men!"
As I scanned the faces of the crowd I saw several different expressions, anger, fear, awe, resentment, acceptance, even greed. A few of the peasants were nodding in agreement, other shaking their heads.
I could tell that only a few of them would be accompanying me, the ones with real backbone, and courage, the others were all to weak and afraid. Some of them were surely thinking that I was insane, well let them think that, they'd see soon enough, and then they'd come to me, begging to be part of my new town. But for now it was time to take what I had and leave, lest De Puce's men get word of me, possibly from that old man.
"All who would follow me, come, and bring your families, for we must depart!"
Basically this map is an invasion map with quite a few economic goals, and a few military ones. It should be quite difficult, as many things are limited (both buildings and resources), and there is a time limit (effectively 14 years). I did playtest this map quite a bit and I do like how it balances out, getting harder as you near your goals, but I haven't had a chance to have others playtest it (sadly no one else whom I know plays Stronghold). I would appreciate a few ratings, as I haven't made and submitted a map in quite a long time (a year and a half actually). I may be a little rusty on a few things, and I'd like to know what so I can get up to scratch again. Also if anyone would be willing to playtest a few maps that I've been working on for the past year or so (on and off) I'd really appreciate it, just send me an email.
V1.1 update (Is that how it goes? 1.0-1.1? Oh well...)
Added another stockpile and another granary, so it can be beaten on Hard and Very Hard (Thanks to ericgolf for pointing out the mistake.)
