Greetings to all! Here is my second map-pack for stronghold. There are four maps, three of which are cede-scenarios.The maps are (1)the serpents' shadow'pt3(you can see the mini-map) maps 2and3 are 'the serpents' shadow ' pt4/pt5.All three maps are resonably challenging(see readme in the download for more details)Brief description-You have won several battles against the evil Duke and taken several of his castles, but the tide is turning as there are several armies on their way.mission3 a tough little nut of a castle to siege and then defend, there are civil events that need to be dealt with whilst being attacked.Mission4- An imposing fortress to capture and hold if you can.mMission 5- the last confrontation with the 'snake'sieze his ancestral home but watchout as some of the populace are still loyal to him(watch out for fires!)just one or two big invasions- a fight to the death!Map four 'Sword of Justice'The year 1200AD you are the High Sheriff(player color yellow) charged by his majesty the King to bring a nefarious outlaw known only as 'The Pig' to justice and to restore peace to this part of the kingdom. There are civil and economic events to deal with .The castle is imposing and has only one entrance(you'll discover why!).Full read me and minimaps included. Please note there is only one map at 400x400 size.enjoy!-LD

Dear Gilzenaarkas, thanks for the comment regarding 'sword of justice'map no it wasnt my intention to make it easy to beat the invasions.I have tried to balance the invasions but the main idea is the way the messages are scripted and that the Pig's character in this mission is as an outlaw hence the ability to defeat him.As for changing the color you play as it's a converted campaign map-mission 12-the ransom,i downloaded a file from SHK's site.As for making campaign maps ,i too am in the middle of working on three for stronghold and legends. But if you fancy a challenge try my'The Aporkalyse' map that is in my first upload, i have maps for Legends as well.Again thanks for your comments. Bertserker,it is easy to make a mappack, firstly you make the maps, secondly take one of the maps and send it to a zipped folder(right clicking your mouse should bring up the menu selection-failing that i believe this site has a facility).Thirdly click on your remaining maps and 'drag' them into the zipped folder, right click your mouse again select 'rename'after giving your mappack a name exit the list. Finally to write a short story(in my opinion a good map is better than a long story-i tend to write short stories so to give people a brief idea, for example my maps for legends'the wilderlands' has a short but to the point story. It depends on the author .the campaigns i'm working on will have full stories including fictional-historical backgrounds. My personal belief for stronghold maps is to use the 'template messages' that come in game, you remarked that 'sword of justice 'was easy but the way the messages were timed was the main intention. Finally map making,i have downloaded maps were the terrain is uneven or not'flowing' i try to strive for realism as much as possible but primarily for user enjoyment. And i should point it out play test your maps first!-i get my two eldest sons and brother to try them first.
