This is my first map. I really enjoy playing Scenario-like Skirmishes so I figured I would try my hand out at it.
After endless testing and re-testing, I have found that the best strategy on this map is to capture as many towers as possible before the other guy does.
This map is intended for 2 human players as the AI does not work well due to The Great Wall being that of another player.
This map is also intended to be a "No Stones" map (ie. No Catapults, Magonels, or Trebuchets). Simply put, if you break down the wall and the stairs, you won't be able to cross it.
I Sincerely hope that AZ ViTrAzhAs will take a look at this map, test it out, and give me some feedback. I have read lots of his reviews and noticed that he fully looks over and tests maps before giving his judgment.
I also look forward to any other reviews from other map makers, as this IS my first map and I hope to only improve.
My Utmost Thanks to the creator of the "Grid Map Pack" which came in VERY handy in the making of this map.
Finally, I have played this map against other Humans and find that it requires very good strategy, and with two seasoned players can be a bloodbath to say the least as well as difficult. Every man counts. |

I want to apologize because I just hadn‘t enough time to arrange a multiplayer match, but used free moments to prove the fact, that this skirmish scenario can be played with AIs (Saladin works the best, I guess). The computer lord must be set in the North West part of the map (Upper Left)! But the most important: an old jigger has to be used to achieve a thrilling playability, when AIs change their playing strategy (For example: Saladin persistently sends swordsmen, bows and horse archers to defend the wall and terrorize your castle). About that jigger: playing against enemy lords you can easily choose the colors of your enemy. If you choose to play this map with an orange Ai, he won’t be able to cross the wall, but if you choose a green opponent, the whole mission changes a lot. The AI can simply use the gatehouses, walls and the towers as if they were his, as for you, you will have to destroy the gatehouses or use the assassins to capture the structures. In summary: if you choose to play against an orange Saladin, the mission will be boring as the Egyptian Sultan won’t attack, he will start destroying the walls with the mangonels, but if you choose the green one, the mission becomes a quite interesting challenge. Simply add 7 Saladins, and then kick everyone except the green one. Now choose the map. That’s it! What is more, inexperienced players can easily block the gatehouses to avoid a surround as the wall has three paths. Simply buy few assassins, climb the gatehouses and start destroying them. The result: you will see that the drawbridge disappears! Now you can easily force the enemy to attack from a single side.
I will gladly play a multiplayer match when I’ll come back from vacation, and then leave a review.

Azerom, I will soon test your map (Sorry about this delay, a lot of important things are happening at the moment). Rabid Dawg, well playing SHC from the first day it was released in my country helped me to find out lots of hints and other little secrets that come in handy in multiplayer death matches. Skirmishing against AIs has become rather boring, so usually I play relaxed, offensive strategies are often left behind. When I will have more free time, I'll go back to multiplayers to retrieve the skills. But in my opinion, there are much more better players than me; a tiny mistake could end the game in a flash, so you would have equal chances of winning if playing against me. Thanks for the nice words anyway :) [Edited on 09/05/07 @ 02:40 PM]
