The Keep here is a replica of the first adventure to be put out in the Dungeons and Dragons Basic Set in 1980. The surrounding terrain is as close as I could get it to the actual map.

The Snake has taken hold of The Keep and is sending in the rest of his army to claim it for himself. Reclaim The Keep and save the Castellan. Store up enough bread for the coming years and protect The Keep against the onslaught of The Snake.
Playability: the best thing about the map was the early challenge of structuring food and resource collection to maximize efficiency. Once I made a few modifications to the castle and made access to the stockpile and granary more direct it was simply a matter of sitting back and watching and waiting for the end.
Balance: This map was just too easy. The invasions never even got close to the castle. Also there did not seem to be enough events to hinder expansion and troop build up.
Creativity: I did not observe anything especially unique or eye catching about this map or scenario.
Map Design: overall the map seemed unnatural and did not seem to have any special features. The way the castle was laid out, high on top of the elevated plains with limited access, made the invaders task even more impossible
Story: Nothing special to note

I liked it. I havent played SH enough to give it a proper review, but it was very enjoyable. I thought the smaller attacks building up to the bigger attacks at the end was well done, but if you build enough archers and use pitch ditches, you can pretty much wipe out anyone coming up the road to the keep.
Do you have a version of this that you can edit? Maybe post to this forum or send it via e-mail? I'd like to be able to go in and mod it on my own.
