Treaty of Kings







You ride ahead your men, closer to the ford. Your two bodyguards run behind you. As you near your younger brother's castle, you get angry. If he only hadn't broken the treaty with Lord Edward, none of this would be happening.

This map is a cede scenario/invasion, so you take over the enemy castle, then battle huge invasions that batter at you relentlessly.

To cede you must: Kill 150 enemy troops

To win you must: Defeat all enemy and invasions

The lose conditions are: Enemy Lord killed, 190 troops killed, Lord killed.

There is a story and hints in the zip, and another story in objectives.

I didn´t enjoy this map as lot as i would think. It is just to easy... Also the economy of the castle hasn´t got any purpose. Try to make it more difficult, and use your castle economy.

Balance: 2.5 ( Edit )
The map is not really balanced. When you normally assault the castle it is almost impossible, but with your tips it is unbalanced. And once you conquered the castle it is way too easy to win.

Creativity: 5
I have never seen a map which the castle surrenders and you will have to defend it against a invasion when you captured it. You also control the units which have surrenderd. Really good job. Again I have never seen this before!

Map Design: 4.5
I don't know why but i simply love the castle design! The irrigration in the castle looks great and the environment looks realistic in my opinion. Also the docs are the stockpiles just like ships unloaded their goods at the docks. The path to the castle looks good and the castle itself isn't really special but it fits in with the rest perfect, so it looks good. But it isn´t the best castle design ever.

Quite a good job here.. It fits in with the map perfectly but it´s not the best ever seen.

Nice try, but try to improve.

Just one remaining question.
- How do you let your castle surrender ? I have looked at your map but couldn't find the event myself. Please tell me. It is not to steal idea's for my own maps but just i want to know how to do this.

AZ ViTrAzhAs Well, as I understand this is a cede castle, the map, which contains this event, is in the utility section.

I played it once, and it seemed quite interesting. However, I found the map far too easy - after simply clearing the contents of one tower (I'm not specifying which), and knocking a hole one tile wide, victory was mine immediately, in the first part. The second part was in essence, a race to see how many slingers you could train in what little time you had. I tried it again, but as things went down the same path each time, I started to get a bit bored with it. Once it's fine, but twice it's a bit bland.

Balance: 3.5

Not exactly the most well - balanced map out there - I found the map too easy to win on. Test! Don't rush with putting maps out - I made the same mistake too!

Creativity: 3

For me, nothing special here, except for the fact that you couldn't kill the lord. The scenario just went down too simply. No economic challenges, just a capture - and - defend scenario.

Map Design: 3

Once again, nothing too special. The castle's walls looked a bit plastic, they stuck out a bit too much. The land looked fine, albeit a bit bland. What I did point out was the road. It simply stuck out too much - the oasis grass needs to slowly transition into sand, otherwise it looks a bit like artificial turf.

Story/Instructions: 3.5

Enough story was provided to flesh out the map, but I think the events section took away from its score, as it just revealed too much. Just an average two-paragraph story.

Additional Comments:

A good improvement from your earlier maps, but there's still room for improvement. Don't rush things.
