Yes, this be my first map. It is the Battle for Bruma, but alot Bigger. you Play as Martin, I Spose. And you command brumas forces. I don't really have much to say here, as its all in the ZIP File. So.
Well FroobaChoob I promised you a review but I decided to write it in comment from because it's not very good and I don't want to give it a bad look.
I can't say that this map was very exciting and I actually didn't beat it my computer did.At first when the enemy arrives there is a shocking feeling and I have to admit that I failed at the first try but at the second victory was easy.I moved all the troops away from the castle and into the temple and then things got ver boring. The enemy just ponded the castle and I had to wait about 5 minutes untill the castle is completely destroyed and the army starts to attack. And then came a problem a very small band of soldiers went to the temple the remaining army stood still and didn't show signs of life. When the small group was destroyed some of the soldiers start to attck I'm takling about groups from 4 people. And some never attacked untill the end I was forced either to demolish my gate to provide them a passage or to get my archers near them and for most designers thats a big mistake.
From what you read above you see that this also affects the balance. The fight was in my favour from the start untill the end.I don't have any tips on how to imrpve the balance because it's a siege and the troops react in a different way. They attack in small groups.Though the balance is far from perfect I don't think that more troops would fix the problem. The signpost is placed in a very tight position and if there were more troops the space becomes little and there is a risk of the sprite overload.
I can't say that creativity is a big plus also. The first castle(Bruma) isn't very attractive and all the apothecaries and markets made it kindda dull. You have to keep in mind that every city is divided into sections and you shouldn't place random buildings at random positions.Think of it like to make a house in a quarry or industrial area.Just doesn't fit.The stairs that form a roof are nicely made but lack creativity you might place some wooden walls and towers in it just to give it a cooler look. The temple looked like a fort to be honest and I couldn't guess if you hand't written it in the word doc.It also lacks creativity. It needs improvements in small places add more details because it looks very rectangular. The beauty of nature is that everything is unique one of a kind with complicated design. So to make the temple more natural you shouldn't give it such a symetrical look. And one thing that also puzzels me about it is that if the stairs or the wall before the stairs is destroyed the army has no way of getting to the lord.I don't think of it as a mistake and don't include it in the score but some people my critisize you for that. They just use the demolish tool and a guaranteed victory.
The map design was nice and I don't have bad comments about it.The reason why I placed a 4 is that it just looked a bit off.A secluded valley and hardly bumbs amd rocks and suddenly a huge rock system on both sides of the castle.I don't say that this is impossible but it's grass and afterwords rocks you have to palce some rocks a bit further from the large system just like a warning that bigger rocks will come. And that way they won't suddenly pop up.
The story was more than enough it covered the needed info of the castle and the tips and hints add to the overall score.
An overall 3.2
Well mate sorry for the negative comments I think that you have potential to be a great designer and the new map that I'm playtesting confirms my thoughts but I didn't think that we win anything by writing false comments.

Erm...pardon me for mentioning this, but this isn't your first map. Why do you say as much?
And who's SS?
The map does look very nice though. Especially the outpost castle.

Cool, this map is based on Bruma from the game "Oblivion". Nice.
