Under the reign of the King Edward I the Britons built a great castle called Crawley. The ambition of Edward I was to unite the peoples of Britain under one crown. He sent an army to Wales and, after some time of struggles ad war, Wales came completely under the English King's power.
Now you must defend its castle from the attak of the last enemies...
Playability: This is a decent enough scenario, with no obvious glitches. The events are actually well-timed, as you think you are comportably ticking along and then something happens! Not too many events, but those fires are a bit of a pain. I suffered quite badly the first time I played this.
Balance: Again, okay. Not too difficult to meet the goals required. The castle will support a surprisingly large population if this is required, but partly because the invasions are on the weak side. You can build outside the castle walls in some areas without too much concern for their destruction. Larger invasions would be better. I think the invasions suffered a little as the castle is tucked away in the far corner of the map, leaving a lot of 'dead' parts of the map.
Creativity: Fine, recreated on a historical period of time by the looks of things (not too familiar with this, but that's not to say that it didn't exist). I do like to see a historical recreation of a battle, a castle or an event in time.
Map Design: Looks okay, effort has been made to use the terrain tools and the castle, whilst simple, is fine, if a little bit too crammed. My only gripe is the rather untidy use of the terrain tool. It's a shame when you can clearly see evidence of this within the completed map and it can be a bit of an eyesore. Try using smaller brushes for lowering land or creating rivers, and build up gradually. I usually change at least 50% of my initial work (even slightly) just to try to make sure it looks authentic. Patience is the key here (I obviously have too much time on my hands..)
Story/Instructions: A little lacking in content. However, what is here is good and, importantly, 'reads' well. Clear and concise. If the story was elaborated upon, with more detail, it would be very good indeed.
Overall, a good map, enjoyable and a nice idea. Just needs a few tweaks here and there. Well done!
