This map is based on Beaumaris Castle, located in north Wales. It was designed by James of ST. Goerge and began construction in 1295. The castle was part of King Edward I's plan to control Wales. Beaumaris is regarded as one of the best preserved castled in all of Britain.
I've Recreated Beaumaris Castle from photographs and floor-plans found on the net. Though I originally planned this as an invasion map, I had trouble getting the invasions to work. (enemy troops kept vansihing as soon as they arrived, if you know how to fix this please say so.) After the invasions failed, I chose to submit it in eyecandy to see what you thought.
(it is Close to the sea, but not connected to it.)

Yes! That is alot the Beaumaris Castle, I should know as I've been there myself. Beamuris was a wonderful design sorrounded with swans and a gift shop from Cadw. Of course it is part of the Welsh Heritage which I applaude, Lovely reconstruction.

This has bugged me so much I just signed up to say this..
The map of the castle itself is perfect expect for 2 major flaws:
A: the castle is facing the sea the wrong way and
B: why isnt it connected to the sea?
which if you read the history of the castle, you would know was connected to be used as a shipping "dock". That was one of the main reasons it was put there.
