Wales, 1461. It has been six years since the "war of the roses" began, between the Yorks, and the Lancasters. Harlech castle, currently held by the Lancasters, has come under attack by York forces. Defend the castle at all costs. Food will not be in issue, as the castle can be supplied by sea, the big problem, is the huge army, sitting just outside........
Obviously this map is based on the siege of Harlech castle, during the War of the Roses. Harlech was under siege for a total of seven years. It held out long after other Lancastian forces in the area had surrendered.
The castle-
Harlech castle was built by King Edward I, as part of his second Welsh campaign. Like many castles in the area Harlech was designed by James of St. George. Taking sixyears to build, (1283-1289,) and costing an estimated 8190 Pounds. Harlech became a massive stronghold, particularly noted for its enormous gatehouse. The castle was built with a “way to the sea,” which allowed it to be supplied by Edward’s superior navy.
Harlech castle was subjected to many sieges. In 1294 it was besieged by a Welsh uprising, led by Madoc ap Llywelyn. In1404, the castle fell to Owain Glyndwr, but was recaptured only five years later, in 1409. The siege of 1461, was the longest siege known to britain. The final seige Harlech had to endure, was that of 1647, during the English civil war, when Royalist forces were held under seige by Parlimentarian forces.
I made this map with the 'Crusader expansion' graphics....so im not sure what it will look like on ordinary crusader.
My first reasonable invasion map. Please rate.
(P.S.- Watch for the phantom siege equipment! No engineers, not even an invasion...yet somehow they appear, and WORK.....?)
(P.P.S. - just starting a Caerphilly castle map..... :)

Oh, i forgot....
I always have a little trouble balancing invasions, so this map is technically still under development. Once i've got some feedback, i can fix them up a bit.....

it depends on Sulis or Lady Arcola; whenever they check the review, which has to refer to "review guidelines", it will be uploaded (usually it takes 12 hours, less or more). |

You said this map was still under development ... you should only submit maps when they are completely finished. Play-test them yourself.
It looks good:) |

Oh yes, I do play-test my own maps.
But once you've played the same map about 100 times, it gets kinda tedious.
I think the invasions are OK, but I wanted some other opinions.....[Edited on 10/15/07 @ 04:41 AM]

Awww come on...not ONE lousy review...
:(
(edited by Sulis)
I'd advise you to read the Review Guidelines and especially the part that specifically states not to post empty comments such as begging for reviews. Use the forums and request a review in the relevant thread (Map Room).
Ok...sorry
