This map was used in the first round of the ongoing Struggle for the Crown challenge at ICU. The map itself is loaded as an economic map, but plays out as an invasion. The storyline is rather simple and timing is of key importance. Keep a close eye on the win timer and have some fun.
Because this is a contest map, it may not be suitable to rating. However, if you want to make notes or let us know what you think, Please do :)
I enjoyed this map. Its a really good map for beginners in that because you don't know what the final battle will be like, there is suspense and an sense of urgency to the aqusition of goods and weapons. If underprepared you'll lose militarily. But watch the economic conditions for victory, lest you shift your emphasis too far in the other direction on subsequent attempts.
Overall it's not very complex, however, becasue you have abundant resources and the enemy invades from one entry point only. Perhaps this is a result of the map being part of a contest, since there are many strategies one can take to win. Indeed, this is the map's strongest asset. It allows you to experiment with wildly different stategies between games.

I just finished this mission and it was terrific! What a great combination of economic and military goals. Great job, BobT!

This scenario was the first downloaded file that i have played and enjoyed enough to lug my ancient computer on to the web to let you know that it was a thoroughly satisfying way to wind down after work, and at the end of the game i had nearly forgotten i had even gone to work in the first place. I'm not experienced in the techie-speak for these things yet - but i can say this: If anyone is looking for an economic mission that still gives some challenge in the combat area, doesn't rely entirely on fires and bunnies to present challenges (*yawn*), is neither a walk in the park nor a shot in the dark, and you don't like to spend 20 minutes at a go waiting for "things to happen", download this - it was lovely. (Also, I am a mere novice at Stronghold, for what this might say of my opinions.) I hope that counts as a review and is of some use to you! I'm off to hunt down the rest of the Quest! (If it exists?)
