Part 1: Rising again Ch. 1

Author File Description
Lord William1234
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Hard
I have given up on the Rebellion series (it is not going well at all), and have decided to create a new one. This one has you, a powerful lord in your home country, forced to retreat to the northern swamplands. From there, you must collect the supplies necessary to move to a new location. Disease, wolves, bandits and invasions from minor tribes (The Rat) will plague your settlement.

1. Build your economy quickly.
2. Make sure you are careful when gathering resources: gather too much too quickly and bad things will happen.
3. Bandits will come at you when your population is high enough.
4. When you collect enough spears and bows, the invasions will stop.

It didn't take me too long to create this map: I was lucky. The events worked out perfectly in order to give you a great challenge.

Good luck!

WARNING! Do not play on the Easy level, unless you want a challenge. Plague and Tree Fungus happen immediately when the game starts.

evil_space_cows First Download!!!

I normally wouldn't have downloaded it, because the minimap is... Well, frankly I don't like the look of it. The events changed my mind. With a little bit of tutoring on mapmaking, and maybe a bit of practice of cedes, I reckon you will be a mapmaker of compettion level.

I will write a review once I have played it.

Oh, you did? Hmm...maybe I'll upload the maps of the rebellion series that I have. I haven't uploaded them yet, since I wasn't sure what people think of them...

Still, it's nice to know that some people enjoyed the series so far. :)
Sir Ravenclaw I shall download this map, it looks interesting, to say the least :)

Part 1: Rising again Ch. 2 is finally complete! I just need to do a bit more playtesting. I think that I will wait until this map gets a review, though. I want to see what people thought of this map.
Map Design2.5
Playability: 2.5
I found it VERY difficult to get started, as almost everything happened at the beginning. Once I got some walls up, I found that it was very difficult to continue, because the plague had decreased my happiness level and the people had left the castle. Also, the wolf attacks and plague happened far too often.

Balance: 3.5
Nothing much to say here, it was okay.

Creativity: 3.5
Fairly creative. Castle built on a swamp. Not much. *Flashback to Monty Python and the Holy Grail* Try to add more features in your maps.

Map Design: 2.5
I can see how the swamp could have taken a while to create, but all that was on the map was just swamp.

Story/Instructions: 3
Vague story behind it, seeing as its the beginning of a series it should have more of a background.

Additional Comments:
Spend a bit more time, and try planning things, it helps. Space events out more.

Quick question for you: did you play it on the easy level? I warned you not to do that. It is actually easier on the normal level, as the plague and the other events don't start right off. If you did just play it on the easy level, try it on the other difficulty levels and review it again for playability.
