Playability: 3.5
This map had a good playability. I never really got bored playing the map as I was always trying to either eliminate the enimies or gather the supplies for the completion of the map. However, I did notice that there was only one invasion, and you had a looooooong time to prepare for it. I fought it off with less than 20 archers and spearmen. I did notive to, that you could build quarries and ox tethers, but there was no stone.
Balance: 2.5
The map was far to easy. The player had plenty of space to build a lot of dairy farms, and selling cheese to get enough money. I did notice that you could buy bows though, and since that was one of the objectives to get 20 bows, I just bought all of the bows. I did like what happened once I reached that one particular objective though ;)
Creativity: 3
The map was creative in the sense that if you wanted a good supply of wood without the wolfs troops picking off your woodcutters, you had to go through he snake to reach the trees.
Map Design: 2.5
I can see how you tried to make the map realistic on the mountains. However, the rest of the map was really bland with the standard minimum height. Terrian is probably one of the, if not the most, important things that makes a map good. I take that back, terrian can be bad, and still have good gameplay, but terrian helps a lot.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
There was a nice paragraph or two of story, and it actually explained why you were there, instead of just "Kill the troops to get wood"
Additional Comments:
The map was a fun map to play, but I was wondering if you play-tested it. You labeled it as hard, but it was from normal-easy I believe. Spend time on your maps and they will be good. ;)

Before I start the review I'd like to say that this rate has nothing to do with the upper comments I have set my eyes on a couple of maps which are all first ones for the designer and I'd like to review them.
Playability: 3.5
As a first try this map was excelent in playability.Three of the enemy knights attacked me in the start and as little as they were they took down some of my spearmen. The enemy sent what they had and when they were out of troops they just started to pile up things without being such a bug.I first took down the stronghold with the fortress and started to pile up wood.I was wondering why you didn't want people to increase the population so I started making houses around 30-36 I think there was a wolf explosion-----Nice I like such kind of designers. After a couple of months I had the gold with which I could buy the bows.Normally Im against the trade options that allow you buying the needed goods but it's not that big of a mistake. And after a year or so I had the needed wood. The bad mistake that you made was that I gathered the needed resourses pretty quickly and I was bored until the enemy invasion took place. But the invasion, unfortunately, was really poorly planned. There were about 5 macemen and 10 spearmen.I had four or five years to pile up my forces and in the end such a small force. However the bandit raid was kind of a surprise I didn't expect them at all and it was more of a shock than a disaster. The bandit thing was kind of missthought.I had to make 15 bows to recieve 10 bowmen. That is kind of unhelpful even if I spare some money.Nevertheless you are aware of things that I came to know quite recently.Overall the playability was interesting and thriling.
Balance: 2.5
The balance was way off the biggest fault in the map was the 20 people invasion I had so much time to prepare. However the start of the game was really interesting and kept you on your toes.If you could keep up that start throughout the entire map than Im sure that you will get a higher score.
Creativity: 4
The Mongolia map was the first one in the site and unless Im mistaken it's the first with Chinese order. This boosted your score a lot.I like the general idea of the map and how one has to fight for forests. The objectives were very reasonable and had a nice ring to the maps idea.
Map Design: 1.5
Im really kind of disapointed from the terraining.I look at the landscaping and map design more these days and that ceartainly makes it a little bit tougher.I have a motto, actually my partner thought of it, it's:
"The earth could exist without a castle, but the castle can't exist without the earth." So even if the castle isn't the pretiest and most fortified you are pretty likely to get a high score if the terrain is realistic.I actually can't tell you whats wrong with the terrain there are a lot of things. You have to make it look more rugged and leave less space plain. When my first map was reviewed by Dougleass he told me to read the Mapmaking tutorials in SHH----http://stronghold.heavengames.com/maps/index_html It did me a world of good and I really found the mistakes later when I was looking it again.Another way you can increase your skills is to try out the maps of other designers as they evolve.BMC is in SHH since july this year so I think we are the perfect example of how untalanted people slowly start to improve their skills and reach a point when they make one masterpiece after another. If you like you could check out our first map Shepts Ankh and follow the others to Cape Kaliakra our most recent map.I used this trick and tryed out lots of maps.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
Well the map was short of a long and interesting story however it had instructions and that increased the score. You shouldn't let the St/Inst lower your score.Making a decent story is not that complicated and everyone is capable of doing.just make it long and interesting and follow the spelling and gramatical rules of the English.BMC is from BG and we both are really noob at English but we use all kinds of things to correct our mistakes like SA Dictionary and Word.
Additional Comments:
As a first map this could have been a lot worse and despite of the review it's not what the designer got wrong that matters it's how he corrects it.

Playability: 3.5
Not bad. The little tribe you start out with is a real fixer-upper, and it takes a while to get the wood you need to fix it up. Also you need to take out two separate enemy camps. One is a little tougher than the other, which is how it should be, and you get attacked once. Could be more exciting, like with more scripted events, perhaps more invasions. Something to keep me on my toes a bit more basically.
Balance: 2
This map was pretty easy. I tried it on hard my first go and won. The knights I had in the beginning alone were able to trounce the forest dudes. Also there wasn't much to stop me from doing whatever I wanted after that. Mostly I just had to wait until my guys were getting wood quickly enough to do what I wanted to do. The thing that bumped this score up one was the "unexpected defense" at the inner gate. It could've caused me to take a bit longer.
Creativity: 4
I liked the concept you had going here. No matter what the map actually looked like this map had a pretty good idea behind it, unlike most of the Stronghold campaign maps and your "classic invasions" (build a castle, defend it for a certain amount of time, maybe meet some random eco goal too). I also liked being on a plain.
Map Design: 1.5
I also disliked being on a plain. It was an extremely plain plain. Personally I think that this is more Stronghold's fault than yours, but it is possible to spruce up a plain some. You had the right idea with putting bushes in, but they can't just be in lines. You need to scatter them around, even if that means placing them by individual clicks instead of dragging them around. Also, mix lots of dirt and rocks and stuff in there. Usually it's not just grass. Also, there may be some very slight elevation differences in the plains. Just remember that for starters. Also, waterfalls usually are more straight cut than that. Go look at some pictures of waterfalls and try to mimic those, or check out the waterfall tutorial. Also, for shapes of rivers, you seem to have that down, but try to smooth the edges, and make them look like actual river banks.
Story/Instructions: 5
I'm always pretty lenient on this. There was no actual story outside of the map, but the one in it was just fine.
Additional Comments:
Not a bad map. Not too good to look at, but still fun. I recommend downloading it for a quick game.
