Part 1: Rising again Ch. 2

Author File Description
Lord William1234
File Details
Map Size: 300x300 (Medium)
Difficulty: Hard
Minimap:
The second installment of this series! This time, you are no longer in the swamplands (although, there is still some swampland up north), and in the middle of a fairly large, hilly area. You must build your castle in the place where a small village once stood. Defend yourself well: the rat will attack you in large numbers.

The story is as follows:

Exhaustion grips you as you flee from your swampy encampment. Disease forced you to break camp, and you, along with a handful of your loyal followers, flee southwards. Disease and exhaustion kills off all of your men; all, except for the brave knight Thomas, and yourself. After days of marching, you finally come across a hilly area. You peer into the distance, and see smoke rising in the air. A fire! You and Thomas race forward, and discover the remains of a once prosperous village. Everything has been burned to the ground: only the Saxon Hall remained intact. You loot through the papers in the Hall, and discover journals of the scribes that once lived here. You began to read them:

(Unreadable Text) ...4 A.D
We have...against these...for...long. Our...decimated...our supplies...we must...or...die!

Most of the journals have been burned, and are hardly eligible. As you continue to search, you stumble upon the plans to create stone walls, and another journal. This one is in perfect condition. You begin to read:

December, 524 A.D
We have not given up all hope just yet. We have decided to try and construct stone walls and try to defend against the rest of The Rat's attacks. The pages attached to this document have the plans

The journal ended abruptly. You see blood on the floor nearby. You shudder, and step outside. Thomas is waiting.
"What news?" he said, standing near his horse.
"Nothing much," you say, holding out the papers. "This is pretty much the only valuables that this place has to offer." Thomas takes the document, looks it over, and smiles. "This could come in handy later," Thomas said, stashing the papers into his bag. "In the meantime, maybe we should reconstruct this village. It could prove to be an ideal spot for an outpost." Little did he know of the spy watching them the whole time...

Hints:
1. Get your weapons production going as quickly as possible. Even though the Rat's forces don't come until about 3 game years, they came in very large numbers.
2. Make sure to use stone walls if you can. The Rat's catapults are sure to devastate your wooden gates and walls.
3. Be careful: if too many of your troops are killed, bandits will come at you in order to annoy you.

Good luck!

Wow, I never expected to get a review when I posted the map so long ago. I am happy that I got a good review: yes I know that I could do better on the terrain but I made this map before I started to really download other good maps. Before I released it before the hills didn't even exist. Though the review wasn't over a four, I'm happy that you enjoyed it!

I guess I shall submit a couple of other maps from this series. I never did since I didn't get a review for this map (until now).

Once again, thank you for the review.
