Hello everyone,
Well, I'm French, so don't irritate yourself if my English is bad. This is the first time I make a post here, but I know this website for years, and I have probably hundreds of maps from here.
As I know this website is well-known, I think I can purpose few maps from friends to me here, in order to make them famous, or at least more used than actually.
So, if I don't show minimap in the prensentation, it's because I've more than one map to submit, about ten.
These maps are made by the French mappeur ConardLeBarban. Personnaly, I think they aren't really beautiful, and original nore. So, this is the maps :
As you can see, there is no specific scenarios. Anyway, for me, make a story far a skirmishe is like make a mathematic equation for a philosophical question.
Although they're not really original, I've played a game on one of these maps (2 VS 4), and there was a good game. Yet, it's not recommanded to play in with IAs. In some maps, the castles are very, very, close, so the IAs can't build their castles.
Otherwise, If I have the authorization, I'll show you very beautiful maps from another mappeur... if he give me the authorization, of course.
To conclude, the link of my forum :

Well this must be the biggest mappack ever submitted to SHh... Anyway bb codes, which are used in the forums, don't work in this section, so I advice you to use simple html codes in case you want the pictures to be viewable in the story. |

Hey Barbarius !!!
Don't worry, a few people around here already know you thanks to me ;)
This is a nice idea of yours to upload this mappack here... However, you should effectively change the screenshot links to another format.
See you soon, my friend !

This will be really hard to review for the comunity mate. I think you should upload them one at a time. |

Well, in fact, the codes here isn't the same from my forum, so I'm just a little lost. I'm agree to upload map one by one, but I thaught people thinks it was flood. But I'll do that.
EDIT : Yeah ! Now, you know what you dl. Thanks to AZ ViTrAzhAs :)[Edited on 11/02/07 @ 04:15 AM]

Trouble is, Battle Mage, that uploading each map separately is long and annoying for the "author", and as my friend said, it will be look a bit like flood when a dozen maps will break out into the map list all of a sudden... Moreover, I don't think personnally there will be trouble reviewing this mappack as a whole - for once - because all the maps are based on the same model : simple, miltiplayed-oriented, rather bare, balanced. Of course, a test will be more refined that this first glance, but in a way the minimaps speak for themselves. ;)
As for Barbarius, your incentive is good :) However, may I suggest you to propose a bit more original maps next time?... I know our members on SFH have ever produced better maps, so I think it would be more accurate to offer them first here, as members here are generally long-time warriors who expect more new stuff...
See ya all soon :)

Although I enjoy playing the more complicated looking maps (much like everyone else). I like the extremely balanced maps like these. It kind of puts everyone on an even playing field. Also, I think they remind me of the old Warlords game for the Atari 2600. I'll definitley download and rate. |

The reason Barbarius is putting groups of maps into mappacks is that he is being considerate of others by not spamming the downloads section.
From the minimap the swamp level looks good-none of my stronghold Crusader playing friends like swamp very much but I'm crazy for them ;.) |
