Well this is the first crusader map that we have under BMC and I can't denie that Im really excited.
This is the first part of our two part campaign Desert nights and it's a solo effort so it's not perfect but I hope to improve.
I want to say that as real as this story is it's fictional and all the people and events are based on my imagination.
The story can be found in the zip file. Here is the basic layout of the event.
You play as the arabians and have to protect a vital trading route to Jerusalem from the Christians invaders.Your camp is really weak and doesn't have lots of men to protect it.However the fort does have a height advantage.Make sure you put that do good use and drive away the enemy army.Once the siege is broken the whole camp must flee to the west to aid a trade post with lots of caravans.
And you guessed it the Trade post is Malkier's part.
I hope you enjoy the map and I look forward to seeing your thoughts.
The playability was hard and frustrating, but I beat it thanks to the picture that you supplied. Not a perfect five but, still great.
If I could use a swear word for this, I would. But after playing this 4 times, I got it on the last go. There was one enemy soldier left facing off against my lord who had 1 pixel of red health. It was an amazing finish because I was pulling out my hair just watching those last two fight. My lord won, I couldn't believe it. But I think you could have made the balance easier.
Excellent. Creativity is very good. Only great maps like this should be submitted. (sry, never really say much on creativity).
Map Design: 4.5
Very, very, very good. But I have to subtract .5 of a score because I found a couple faults in the map design. First, some rocks which were placed a little higher than lowest terrain looked unnatural and should have been covered up. Hard to explain but the editor expects you to fix it yourself, which you should have done. Second, parts of the oasis spaces looked unnatural too. I know you tried to even it out between the lush green grass and the bare desert, but you should have spent an extra five minutes perfecting it. Map design was great though.
This hurt the score. I hate it when there is a good map and then something has to hurt the score. I read the story that was provided in the zip folder. It was terrible. I'm sorry to say that but you need to improve on your language skills. Punctuation and grammar was bad but I hope you will improve. If the story was written better, it would have been interesting.
Great map. Very hard. Worth the download. Good work.
