"Smoke of of incense was filling dark room. Man in white cloak entered it. He looked quite scared. For a longer moment nobody said anything. After a while of silence man covered by shadow asked:
- What is your business here ? - he asked with calm, silent and deep voice.
- I ... I ... I know your work. - white-cloaked guest answered with some difficulties.
- Ah, so this is aid of shadows you seek ? - he lighted another sweet-smelling stick - So, who needs to vanish from this world ?
- L ... L ... L... Lord Nathaniel. The count of south province. The very ...
- I don't need an lecture. - man in shadow interrupted - It should be an easy assignment.
White-cloaked man threw a purse with jevels next to mysterious person.
- Very well. Silence pays. Money talks. Now get out.
White cloaked man quite happy moved to the doors. When he had reached the doors, he said:
- I don't believe you are going to make it.
- Then believe.
- There's an army near his hideout, no way to break through !
Mysterious person stood up. He had slim, long body, tight covered with black cloth. In one moment he took his long, curved slim blade and threw like a dagger in direction of the guest. The blade hitted doors just up his head, cutting his hood. Terrified, he run like the devil chased him.
- Just ... believe... - had said mysterious man, just before he returned to narcotize himself with sweet, exotic smoke. In darkness."
I believe there are some grammar/spelling errors in story. Sorry for that.
Map is inspired by Rush Town and other "assassination" maps. It's quite easy. Your small forces are scattered in forests. Have fun.
TIP: Take the BACK entrance. Watch out for snipers. :P
Hey mate I saw your map and decided to have a go at it. Though it was inspired by another map I think you did a superb job. Even though this review may seem a bit harsh the mistakes in it could easily be fixed next time and the result will be a better map. So lets start.
You said the map was quite easy but I found it rather challenging I had some trouble on the first try but on the second I succeded. BTW I noticed that you have taken the life of the lord to the yellow zone. Thats clever and decreases the number of troops. The reason why this rate is a 3 is because the game didn't last too long. I started it in Jan 1181 and finished August 1181. Thats a really short and as good as the map was this lowered the score a lot. Mabye if the map was bigger and had more hurdles than it would have taken more time and things would have been different.
This is the first time I reveal my strategy in the balance section but I think it's more suited there. So I started the map and immediately moved the assasians in the lower part to cross the bridge and head to the lord. Some of them took a beating from the archers. When I passed the gate I had 3 left in the yellow zone. I placed them behind the houses ,protected from enemy fire, I continued forward. Some of the sowrdsmen were after me so I found myself in need to destroy some houses. Now I had a clear path to the keep. I didn't go from the fron ,rather I used the wall and damaged the lord's life as much as possible. Then I ordered the other assasians to go over the wall, destroy some houses and in the lords keep. After I killed him I had only one assasian left so the balance was perfect.
Well as good as this map was it was too identical to the authentic one. The general idea of an assatination lowered the score by 2 pts. and the castle design which was also very symetrical and close to the Rushtown version lowered it by 0.5 pts. The map itself didn't have anything else to boost the overall rate.
Map Design: 4.5
I can say without no doubt that the landscape looked amazing. Even though I give lower scores to the map design of smaller maps I think this one looked simply terrific. The oasis around the river the road and everything. The only two things that drag this score down are: 1st this map was an ordinary one and the design was just a simple recreation there was nothing ususual or extraordinary about the terraining. And 2nd the banks of the river had only large stones there were no little ones so I found it a bit unrealistic.
Even though the stroy wasn't too long I liked the idea. There were indeed some mistakes in the writing but it's not a big issue.
Well I think this was a very unusual but exciting map. The designer has made the balance perfect to the last peron (something I have never seen) and has shown that he has a real talant with the crusader editor. And I hope you find our maps interesting also.
