The original Stronghold

-I'm too lazy to write a story

This map started as an experiment to recreate the castle seen in the opening sequence and title screens of Stronghold. Once I was fairly certain of the dimensions of the castle, I proceeded to place as many of the available buildings as possible within the castle walls in a logical configuration. The castle in its completed form is now for you to defend against its enemies. I tried to make it at least somewhat challenging. Do enjoy yourself.

Also, this is my first invasion map, please give feedback. Thank you.

Timballisto Hm. Nice idea. I would have interpreted the picture from the loading screen differently, but still nice idea.
Skullus Seeing as the view of the Loading Screen stronghold is unlike the game view, it would be hard to recreate the castle. There are some farms, a Broken tower, some stations, e.t.c. With the Wolf standing there and a knight charging towards him. We must note the mountains in the Background and the hovels near the path when we make these Loading Screen recreations. I've thought of making one myself, but now we know there's at least one reconstruction of the castle in Stronghold Heaven. Thanks for the map.

The landscape surrounding the castle isnt meant to be accurate per se. The castle itself is the same. By looking at the loading screen we can plainly see round towers at each corner and three defense towers along the side. I think it is fair to say that the castle is symmetrical and the unseen sides are the same as the shown ones. In the main menu of stronghold and in the opening video, one can see a series of 5 wall sections in the distance between the gatehouse and the round tower. In my castle there are seven - an additional piece is needed at each side to maintain the (down up down up down)crenulation seen in the main menu. this gives us a total of 14 wall segments a large gatehouse with a defense turret on each side and 2 round towers for our front. This is a total of 43 spaces. If the castle is square then all other sides will be 43 spaces. The turrets are obviously evenly distributed with some extra length near the round towers and so we have our sides/back.

While the outside terrain/buildings may not be the same, I am confident that the castle dimensions are correct.
