The Cradle and the Grave

A lush cradle, formed from two rivers trickling down from mountainous tropical rainforests, creates the perfect place to begin a new fortress. Protected by rocky, barren wastelands on two sides this place, this oasis, will prove to be a safe haven for you and your villagers. Traces of a long lost civilization still haunt this place. A long-forgotten fallen hero, in a grave, marked only by a stone cross, lays at your feet. You wonder what kind of a place he died to protect. You must build a keep in this grassy cradle, and pray that the same doesn't happen to you.

Ok, this was my first real attempt at a map here, so please try it out and shoot me a comment.

Possible bug: Your villagers may wander off to see the fallen hero and other "good stuff". But I added some more "bad stuff" so they should stick around. (did not playtest after said bad stuff was added)

Notes: You will have to travel a bit for stone and iron, but I supplied you with enough to start. You also have 5000 gold so have fun!

Why didn't the minimap show up?

Oh, is there any way to change the name? I thought of a better one.

Also, I was thinking about removeing some of the trees from the edge of the middle (due to them growing so fast), and adding some oil to the bottom left corner. Any thoughts?

Edit: Nevermind I did all the above.

The Dragonheart I have to tell you that the minimap looks fantastic! Maybe you would agree with me that this could be great as a skirmish. 1 in the middle and 3-4 around the outside... (just a thought). Good work.

Yeah I do agree but is there any way to make it a skirmish map? (other than tring to copy every thing :D )

Edit: Nevermind I got, I'm working on a multiplayer version now.

The Dragonheart No, if you have decided to make this into a skirmish, there is no need to re-make the entire map. Open this map in the editor and press Alt and ,
Then that should bring up a window that allows you to change the map type. Good luck

Yea I did a quick look-about and found that out. It's stupid how hidden they made that.

I just finished playing the mulitplayer version and it was great fun, a little unbalenced, but still fun! The A.I. don't really know how to attack the guy in the middle but if it's all Humans playing it's ok. (duh lol) I put 3 people on the outside, one in the middle and one infront of the middle to help balence it a little.

Did you try out this version, Dragonheart? If so I would apreiciate a reveiw. Thanks.

TheTwilightKing Hmm, I'm waiting for the Skirmish version.

It's up go check it out. :)
lord_from_above Very nice. takes a while for the stone to arrive, but none the less a good and enjoyable map. or atleast in my opinion it is.

Lady Debra Oh wow! I love it. I love just to build and play at my own pace. I think a little marsh with some oil would be cool, but it's great. If you play or use a skirmish, you just buy the pitch. That makes it more fun.
