You are in your king,Richard the Lionheart's royal court receiving orders to find a new land to bring in stone for construction of castles in the deserts during the crusades that the king is about to embark on.In the back of your mind you see a picture of yourself standing over the battlements of a huge fortress by the sea....with you as king, that moment you determined to reach the island Lionheart wants you to find and kill his messengers and become ruler of your own city.
3 months later sees you in the crow's nest of your ship, starving, desperate and with clothes so ragged from wear and tear gotten in lowering yourself you helping the sailors who repair the sails and other such common tasks. But you are then overjoyed to see a most welcome sight, land, land at last...you bring the ship into the shallows thinking you'll make the crew tow it back later but it is then you see two other shipwrecks on the beach.Poor devils you think to yourself as you plod along into the island......4 hours later your fresh water from a recently found spring has been drunk already and the most you have found is an old moss covered ruin of an outpost with a couple complimentary skeletons lying around.
Finally you find a hills that would be perfect for a castle when you see a bloody battle between deadly arab mamelukes and scimitar throwers, you realize you must put up a castle quickly and get defense for yourself if your dream of ruling will ever be true.
In this map I am basically throwing ideas into the air and trying to find requests for a certain type of map.Anyway,The two keeps close to each other are probably best as allies and the other two can be enemies or two more humans,I have tested this with most AI and only wolf's spider castle and a corner and aboot's monastery were unbuilt.I recommend that the upper keeps be arabians like saladin or nizar and the far left keep be somebody like pig or sherrif and the bottom keep be yours since it is a good defensive position for all the odds being against it.Constructive criticism or comments are welcome on any of my maps (and as always I really hope to get a review for my work).
Hi, I thought i would review this map for you, i tried one of your other maps, before and liked it, so i thought i would try some others you have created.
The playability on this map was great, you had great strategic points and the ruins could be used as a point to defend your units.
I couldnt give it a five because the amount of materials everyone had differed..
But since everyone had a fair amount of land and resources it got a 4
Well, a island isnt really original, so it cant get a five, but i liked the story which was creative and the ruins where a great feature to have on an island.
Map Design: 4
The layout of the map was good, i liked the small islands, i also liked the small cliffs and the ruins looked old and weathered, i didnt like the coastline though changing between cliff and beach and such..
The story was creative and original, it had a good story line and it was long enough.
Keep creating maps.. ill try some others of yours, if i have the time.
