Hi L.D here. This scenario offers an explanation as to why you fled your homeland in my mini-series'Land of the Britons' for SH Legends. The reason i made this 'vignette' for SH1 is to try and portray the desperate situation of the refugee and the his/her attempt to become a 'citizen' of their adoptive country, and the problems they face.Your foe in this setting is the Dukes De Puce and Beauregard(native Britons)and Duke Volpe(the wolf)the oppresive murderous invader whom who and your people fled from.I have play tested this map and suffered few problems.I have thought about uploading the original version of 'L.O.T.B. for Legends.Anyway enjoy yours L.D-NB I know the timeline is different.
Vignette? Hmm... :D very good work with the design of the terrain, the castle's one is good too, but it's originality isn't a lot, I mean I've seen this castle shape thousands of times :) thanks for sharing

thankyou for the comment the hitman,i would like to recap what castlefreak has mentioned regarding a variation of the motte and bailey-it is what i intended to try and portray and why i made this map for SH1 and not legends.I like motte and bailey castles and legends is lacking in this option and i'm not a big fan of SH2 ,even though i have uploaded a couple of maps'the seawolves' comes to mind as i originally made that a motte and bailey type.secondly i think most of us have seen lots of this castle type as the design in its time wasnt meant for originality(who's seen an original M&B in the history books-not hollywoods' interpretation-and we all 'borrow' ideas from other maps-palistone walls ,a love /hate relationship for some possibly) but functionality/practicality.Finally have you tried my legends maps and the two mappacks for SH1?i also usually make maps with a prebuilt keep as the invasions start pretty early on'the aporkalypse' for my first SH1 mappack for example.again thankyou both for your comments.L.D.

I am playing this at the moment and am finding it a tough map. As a consequence I have found out what defeat is like on this map. But you don't lose until the end. I had a look at the script and you need to do a very small change. Change the dates of your win and lose events to be the first month of the map instead of the end of the map. That way when the lord dies the defeat banner comes up immediately :)
(It did mean, although my Lord was dead, because I had to set fire to my town, I could sit back and watch my remaining archers wipe out everything but I had no control... I will stick a screenie of that eerie scene up for your entertainment)
Here is a URL for the screenie I mentioned

Dear ericgolf, thankyou for your comment. The map is meant to be a tough challenge, given the limited timespan, however victory is possible if you train swordsmen at the very start.I am aware of what happens if your lord dies before the' windate'.The reason for this is (a)this cannot be replicated in legends as when your lord dies, the castle 'converts' to an enemy estate. (2)winning-(1)as in real-life,you don't always win, knowing you have a very high chance of winning reduces the risk-factor(gets the blood racing) (2)The idea of your lord dying before the 'wintime' tries to show that even though he/she has died, your troops fight on to the bitter end,yes it is quite surreal to watch.Have you tried my 'the aporkalypse' yet?I will upload the edited version for AD470 shortly.LD
