Having it all on max height is kind of boring even with the river I do however like the idea.

I don't think I'll give it a try just yet, but I will tell you some ideas in which you can improve the map.
I see you want the player to build on the max height terrain, so it's obvious you will need land to build, however, such vast, empty spaces are such an eyesore.
If you haven't done so already, a lot of rocks, stones, and the odd shrub, with variation in the height will go a long way. You want places to have people build buildings, that is clear, however you also need people to actually enjoy the map, and something more than a empty plain has a chance of.

Dunbrine I like a challenge and lots of space to build on whether it was eye appealing map or not sounded fun.
Immediately the problems started. you need to give a few starting rations, as soon as my castle was built my popularity dropped like a stone not even enough time for crops to grow thus the scenario failed in about 2 mins.
The second time i tried i built a marketplace right away. this didnt help very much due to no starting cash and nothing to get the cashflow going fast enough to get a head of the rapidly dropping popularity.
also you have huge packs of bears and wolves in big groups. just a few single bears scattered around would give the desired affect and a couple small packs of wolves.
Overall the map is very unappealing and without starting provisions nearly impossible to do anything. on the other hand trying to work from the given landscape could be fun trying to figure out what ya could come up with, but as is i would have to rate it if I were to as a 1 for effort and learning experience.
