A couple of weeks ago I got a little bored. This is the creation. Whith a one(and a bit) page story and a 1/3 page instruction you might want to do some reading first.
Sorry for the fact that you start with so much wood (.sav to .map is the culprit).Lots of credit to Stronghold Knights for their 'Tutorial Stockpile'.
Not much else to say apart from this is a (mini) campaign comprising of 3 maps, the first of which is this one.
Well, you could insert the other maps' minimaps too ;) you know, cut them with paint and make one image... not much to say, good campaigns, but the terrain is horrible :)

well for one, if they were all small maps (200X200) of course the terrain's not always good. especially when most of the map is taken up by the castle and village

Thank you Castlefreak. This is the first map as explained and the others haven't yet been finished. Hitman, if my terrain is 'rubbish' then how can I improve??? Thanks for telling me but certain words can hurt a desighner's feelings (i'm not trying to suggest that you hurt mine). If anyone has any suggestions then please tell me, somthing like a review could really help me (i'm a realitivly bad mapmaker)

Hey crossbow dude I downloaded this today and was going to have some fun building, but here are some problems I came across right away.
1) my overall view point is that the map is overcrowded with needless buildings.
a) you dont need so many graneries and stockpiles on a map of this size. it is under freebuilds so 1 or 2 of each is all you need for a start. this leaves more area for people to build.
2) the terrain for the most part is boring and not very appealing.
a) you should try varying elevations and add scrub and bushes and a few more trees scattered around.
b) you have a large area of rocks in a straight line (things in nature do not run in straight lines they are random) and also several small groupings of rocks for mining is more appealing than a huge pile.
c) you have a small ore pile in the corner of the map but there is no way to acess it. if you place something on a map players want to gather to make stuff for their troops you have to have a way for them to acess it either by sloping the terrain or building walls and structures to get to them.
my final overall comment would be to add more trees and shrubs and use the small brush tool to add resources rocks pebbles maybe some ripples or foam in the river. I would suggest looking at other peoples maps and gather ideas from them. I am new to this so take what I say with a grain of salt but from reading various comments from my Kargoth castle design seems I am on the right path there incorporating terrain with features. it may not be a perfect map (actually it isnt as I added more brush to break up the flat lands and fized the castle which hasnt been uploaded yet) but for the most part you can see how i did a simple map with balancing the landscape with a building area.
Well thats my comment and suggestions best as I can do for now
